Status: online 		You can get the SPE engines from Cermark.net for about the same price and you won't have to go to Australia for warranty, parts and service.

I JUST GOT MY T-CAT ON IT'S FEET AND ROLLED IT OUT TO LOOK AT THE PLANE ON IT'S GEAR FOR THE FIRST TIME AND WITHIN 2O MIN. THE PAINT WAS BUBBLING UP AND BLISTERING EVERYWHERE. HEY ANDREW KONDOR, HOW ABOUT SOME HELP HERE!!!!

Status: online 		Blue paint is going to drink in the direct sunlight like a sponge. I know it's not what you want
to here but I am sure it is not Epoxy Paint and it is going to want to de-gas some under the paint
layer and it's going to bubble. Looks like we will have to cover them with a white sheet at
the field. I have my wing in the sun now to see what happens. Will let you know.

Status: offline 		SO YOUR TELLING ME THAT EVENTUALLY EVERY T-CAT BUILT IS GOING TO LOOK LIKE A BURNT HOT DOG AFTER AN HOUR OR SO IN THE SUN? I GUESS THESE ARE CLOUDY DAY FLIERS. THIS IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. $1000 FOR THIS BIRD AND I GET TO FLY A BURNT HOT DOG?

Status: offline 		Andrew, you and Paul are being conspicuously absent from these KMP Tigercat forums. These are real issues that will need to be addressed. If you are looking for solutions for us great, if not let's work together so the problems get resolved and KMP looks like a customer focused comany not one just out to sell and then forget the customer.

Didn't see this before - it is a scratch build. but it comes in under 14 lbs...From Palmer.

Status: online 		Concerning the Dan Palmer's plans.
Note in the above post it says 'advanced modeler': take this literally.
I bought a Palmer F7F tigercat plane from a fellow pilot in the club and he gave me the plans.
It would take me two weeks just to 'decifer' these complex plans.
As you can see in the pictures, the 'guts' have thousands (literally) of pieces to cut.
This is not a set of plans for the 'weak at heart'! (which includes ME).
I don't remember how long he said it took to build it but the number was in years (not months).
As for 14 lbs weight that the plans suggest: getting an 83" WS twin to weigh that would be very difficult.
I'm guessing mine weighs around 23 lbs: which I'm happy with.

Status: online 		I did a little research to see if anyone makes kits of the Palmer's F7F and precision cut kits do.
They don't list their prices but it would be interesting to know the price: it seems like it would be very expensive (but worth every penny versus cutting it yourself).

Status: offline 		BIG RCU, DID YOUR WING SURVIVE THE "SUN" TEST? I CONTACTED KMP AND THEY TOLD ME TO SEND SOME E-MAIL PICS OF THE BLISTERING AND TAKE IT FROM THERE. THE PLANE IS ABOUT 80% DONE, IT IS STUNNING TO LOOK AT ON IT'S GEAR. IT IS VERY MADDENING TO HAVE THIS HAPPEN, HOPE NO ONE ELSE HAS THIS PROBLEM. ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEAS ON HOW TO DEFLATE PAINT BUBBLES?

I set one of my wing panels out in the sun yesterday for about 1/2 an hour to see what would
happen. After about 20 minutes, I did get a few bubbles on the flap and alieron but none on the wing itself.
The surface was very hot to the touch as is was about 95 degrees here yesterday.

I will try letting the entire plane set in the sun on a little cooler day to try to de-gas the glass under the paint slowly.

Now, I only tried one wing panel so far. I'll see if the rest of the plane has similar reactions.

Status: offline 		We cooled down from the 90s yesterday to the 70s today. I haven't even started assembly but i'll put the wing panels and center section out in the sun this afternoon and see what happens.
