I bought a mosquito and the trim was all over the place. It would get in the air and instantly flop about and crash. Returned it after an hour of trying to get it to fly steady. I'd avoid it, seems to be built with very cheap materials and plus, it's damn ugly.

If you looking for Coxial palm size heli,
there is one from walkera, 5#5B,

http://www.walkera.com/en/pro_particular.jsp?la=en&pro_number=Z25%235B0103

I just have mine last night, I get it from
www.miracle-mart.com

It flys stable as esky lama v3, but smaller in size just 203mm long.
It can have 8~10 minutes flying time per battery charge, but remember to give it a break between flights since the motor will heat up.

I love mine but like the Virus said their all not equel, the first one had a bad (slow) moter on the port side an I got a replacement an now I got a flyer, the newer ones have a mod ( higher pitched tail rotor ) to go faster inculed that you can put on after you get the hang of her, anyhoo, their not a good first heli an one should try a blade-runner rescue or any two ch, as a learn'in tool then go on to the mosquito as it can be a hand-full o' heli for a starter as she needs a lot of trim'in as you go though the batt, cycle, your bub, scoooper

Check the directions out on the Pico-Z, just put all three weights (stickers) on the nose and then twist the tail a bit clockwise, and it will fly forward much faster. I can fly figure-8's with mine now. For $30.00, why not? It flies for 5 minutes or so and charges fairly quickly (it states a half hour in the doc, but it seems to charge much faster than that). I can't believe the abuse mine has put up with with my son trying to crash it with me flying by running around blowing on it and swatting at it. It really is a fun little unit. I am impressed with the infared control, it works even without line of sight (must be bright).

I got the Picoo Z as an indoor beginner heli and have had good luck with it so far. It flys forward slowly with a little right stick input without any mods, tape weights, or tail tweaking. I plan on tweaking it once I get some more time on it tho. My next step will be a Lama 4 or Walkera 5#5b etc.

P.S. Vince that is a nice fan cooled battery setup you have.

Guys, check out Protech's Pocket Zoom. It isn't as small as the PiccoZ but I think it is the best sub micro heli money can buy! 120 CCPM, belt drive tail rotor, brushless motor, HH gyro(if i recall correctly)! Check it out at
http://www.protech.be/html/t0504pocketzoom.html

In Greece it comes for about 400 euros, complete with everything i describe in the previous post. I am not sure if it includes a gyro...

That looks quite a neat little heli. 400 Euros sounds a little steep, then again not sure of the quality. The Tx is 5 channel Progammable.

The Trex has almost become a cult because of relatively cheap and easily available spare parts.

Any new heli like this will not take off (excuse the pun) unless theyre tough, cheap and has easily available spare parts.

This one may really be suitable to fly indoors (home / garage).

Ill be interested to hear how it goes.

You know what? Check out http://www.flying-hobby.com/ and please tell me what is going on with those mini/micro/submicro/toy helis!!!
I saw a DVD of Protech (which is a company in Belgium - Europe) presenting the designers of ZOOM, showing them working on CAD, using the CNC testing the machines etc. Are these helis made in Belgium or at least, designed in Belgium and then copied in Taiwan and China? Or is it VICE VERSA? I don't get it.

About the price, 400 euros is the price i saw in ONE shop, in Greece. Probably you may find it for better prices elsewhere. I of course aggree that a crucial parameter for the success is the availability and the affordability of spare parts. We've seen it before, we'll see it in the future...

I went to walmart and got one of the Airhogs havocs. Flys Great $30. Forward flight is limited, but a small screw in the front helps a lot!

I think the best palmed heli is the Blde CX, with 15 minute flight time using the Airwolf fuse with retracts, (you need a 5ch transmitter), and with the stock stock body 10-12 mins. You know, they take a lot of damage, since my fell fro a 5th floor after the battery dieng, and only got a bent blade, which i bent back, and flew just as knew the day after. Also a lot of friends have shot paintballs at it, just bending the skids. (this is using the stock fuselage). I would highly recommend the heli.

Since this thread has been bumped up I will add in my .02
I have been looking for a full function heli to fly inside.
I really wanted a Micron, but could not justify the price...

Then I found this:
Walkera Dragonfly 5#6 Genius
4 ch and only 55g! Under half the price of a Micron V2 or CX.

Theres also the Night Ranger #d Micro. Its alot like the PocketZoom except it has a tail motor. Same small size as the PZ though. And they can be had for 250 with TX and everything. I hear they are just rebadged Walkera 52's but with proper setup can fly as stable as a blade CP Pro. Prolly gonna grab one next month.
