Well, that totally settles it for me. The insurance IS there for the event until AMA makes an official rule against it. That didn't take long to boil it down to the truth, now did it?

I totally agree until I see something in writing ,if the guys at my field want to have it again I have no objections ,besides it was a hoot even though it isn't a high money maker.
It draws attention to the fly in and what is the real motive behind RC modeling .

I can't count the number of people that has walked up to me and said I didn't know a model airplane could do that sort of a thing.
Heheh a hovering inverted flat spin as a rule is a nice crowd pleaser.

Thanks KidEpoxy for all your help and support on this matter .

BTW, the meeting, I believe was after the conversation that Carl had with our club. He said that they were going to talk about this subject, and the heli that fired paintballs.. at that meeting there was a deadlock.. since then... no talk about it. It has been swept under the proverbial carpet.

Try again. I've received several emails from Carl in the last 2 weeks and I can assure you that the issue has not been thrown under any carpert. Perhaps he has a reason to hold off any responses to people that support neglectful acts and more likely to answer people that supp rt organization and safety, for legal reasons.

Like I said before...Carl gave his opinion...The AMA has yet to put anything in print (remember that term?) in regards to this issue...that is what matters.

Maybe it it is all of us that don't get your point........ Please explain (define) in your words the difference between a safe act and an unsafe act. Then please tell us all the things in your life that you do that are totally safe, without any measure of risk.

I am sorry to say everyone, that I can't think of a thing in my life that has absolutely no risk or is totally safe. I guess that's why I have to continue purchasing homeowner's, health, automobile, dental, life and yes, the all mighty AMA insurance............

I wish I could walk on water.... wait a minute, that ain't safe either...

and BTW.... I'm still challenging anyone from AMA (first party) to make their comments publicly known here on the forum........

One that is backed by insurance, organization and guidelines and one that is not. As per Carl, paintballing is not, direct from his fingers to my email box.

I would also say that driving without car insurance and a drivers license is much more dangerous then driving with insurance and a license to all parties involved, if and when something does happen. This is why they have laws to PROTECT the innocent and PENALIZE irresponsible.

Now this is where you say "How does driving without insurance and a drivers license make driving any safer?!!!?"

And this is where I say ... that the person who did not have the drivers license and insurance should not have been on the road in the first place, thus to create a dangerous environment for the legit drivers. Not a single bit different then paintballing at a AMA chartered club and the surrounding environment.

The point of that you don't see it written in the AMA safety code is really weak too. There are thousands of common sense rules which are not clarified in the safety code. Perhaps tens of thousands. But those are common sense ... which seems to be lacking in this forum on a daily basis.

I guarantee you that in most cases if someone doesn't have a license or insurance they would be extra careful and limit trips so as not to get caught.

So...in this case not having a license or insurance could actually reduce accident frequencies in general.

So he is less likely to respond to someone that wants to know if he is not allowed to do something?
Let me get this straight

ONLY CARL knows what is allowed and disallowed,
and he will only tell folks that wont do stuff which is which,
people that are about to shoot PB and ask if is OK wont get Carl's Secret Rulings?

That is like a speed limit sign with no number, but you will get a ticket if you go fastre than a number the cop has on a post-it on his dash, and the cop wont tell you what it is if you ask him.

Carl wont tell us what we are not allowed to do when we ask if if we can do things because he thinks we are about to do the forbidden? It is forbidden, and a secret that it is forbidden? Will STL get in trouble for letting the Secret Rule out?

I think I figured it out.
Paintball is not safe only because it is not insured because it is not safe just because it is Paintball.
Is that the gist of it STL?

Exactly. In fact there is a PDF that you might want to find that addresses the issue of respsones from Carl in regards to the safety code and the legalities of the issue. Try to find it ... not hard to find.

ONLY CARL knows what is allowed and disallowed,
Well he is the guy that holds the title at the AMA of Director of Safety Code Clarification. Whose else word would someone take for it? The AMA janitor? KidEpoxy? LCS? Hoss? So yeah he IS the guy that knows what is allowed and what is not allowed because that's his job.

who's word can we get?
you say it is just fine for Carl not to tell us what is not allowed, based on that we are the ones that may actually do it if it is allowed

Secret Rules Olny Carl Knows, and he aint telling?

oh, IIR Carl called Corona, so he did want to talk to folks that are about to do what YOU dont approve of

Who ever said I don't approve shooting paintballs at airplanes? I don't approve of someone thinking they have it all figured out.

I didn't see anything at Corona that mentioned safety glasses, helmets or any safety precautions like Combat has. Only enough rules and regs to make it fun for the pilot and the shooter. If it's organized I'll be t
