Creteus, I'm lost bro. What tooth count pinion are you running on the Slo Max?

Creteus, this is a guess as I'm not positive so take it for what it's worth. Try a 9t pinion, my guess is the Slo Max is spinning faster than the stocker and the tail can't keep up. If I remember correctly UTM was having problems with the tail keeping up with the Slo Max, you might try to PM him and see if he has any suggestions. The only other suggestion I have is try a Century Hummingbird tail rotor blade, they are much stiffer than the stocker and displace more air at the same speed and also hold up better in a crash.

Creteus:

That 4-in-1 case looks like a classic MOSFET failure. Had it happen once to me, where I replaced the damaged MOSFET with a heavy duty chip and it ran fine. Details are posted earlier in this thread by myself & several othes who have done it and have given me the idea.

The Slo-Max main motor has much more torque than the OEM motor - so much so I had to replace my tail motor & gear with the direct-drive motor and tail blade - was MUCH better in holding the tail. I was using the 10T pinion that the Slo-Max came with, didn't try a 9T

Here is what I was using:

Can you guys direct me to where I can find out how to remove the little pin that keeps the main rotor head in place? I've pulled with pliers and it just wont budge. Thank you!

Dransifl, grab hold of it with a pair of Vise Grips, pull and twist (takes some elbow grease) at the same time. It will come out. The reason it is hard to pull out is because it gets bent in almost an S shape so you have to straighten it out at the same time you are pulling it out.

I hate that pin! If you think getting it out is fun, just wait to you go to put it back in!
I hate replacing rotor heads because of that foul pin.

Do I need both of the orders? Or just the motor and the blades it comes with?

Hey guys, I'm planning to go camping in August and I would really like to bring my helicopter with me. I currently have the stock 8.4v batteries the Falcon 40 comes with. Does anyone know of a car charger or adapter that would work out well for me?

Get cheap low watt power inverter.

I've found an easier way to deal with that pin. A number 16 sewing needle is the perfect size. The advantage is that they are longer to begin with so you have more purchase to hold on to. They also have the point on the end so they self center as you put them in. No more wiggling and pushing to get them through. The last thing is that they are hardened steel. Since I have been using one I haven't bent one inside the head. Before I had several that bent into an S and ruined no less than 3 cores trying to extract it. You can buy those needles at any craft store. I got a pack of 20 for $1.98. Stick em in and cut em off. I can replace the core and pin in less than 10 minutes now.
