Yeah, it's like a laminated plastic box around the electronics. I'm not brave enough to start adjusting those pots yet after some reading and understanding what they do.

"Technically" you shouldn't need to. And hopefully you never will need to.

Hey Jason, thanks for the reply.

I have no idea about the "coding", and don't really have the time and energy to try figure out the solution on my own. Hopefully there will be someone that comes across the post and can give me a definitive answer.

Thanks again tho,

G.

Sounds good to me, It's hard enough getting used to flying it, never mind tuning it, lol.

You need to install the 5 amp mini auto fuse modification. www.rtf-heli.com has a solderless fuse kit for the Falcon 40 for $3.99.

Yes, I know, that will be the next mod I do for sure! You know how the old saying goes, third time lucky? But I also wanted to maybe upgrade to the 2.4 ghz system, but need to know if I can use my existing 2.4 ghz exceed rc 6 channes Tx.

Thanks for the good advice tho!

Can I buy the new Exceed Rc 2.4 ghz receiver for my 4 channel falcon 40(aka walkera dragonfly 4) and use my Exceed Rc 6 channel 2.4 ghz tx that I am currently using for my exi 450?

That I can't answer. I know exceed had a funky system with their 72MHz frequency so that you couldn't use it with anything else. But since you're going from Exceed to Exceed, there's a better chance.

A better place to ask is on the Exceed RC thread.

I have bought two mofets to try fix the fried Rx,s, but it is easier said than done, that is for sure. I just messed one Rx up completely trying to solder that little 8 pin mofset in. Oh well, there must be an alternative to exceed RC's (xheli) Rx shortage and the ridiculously low voltage that causes these things to burn out easily so that ''some people'' can make more money from unsuspecting victims such as myself! Somebody must be making a killing from selling these Falcon 40 Rx'sthat burn out frequently, its a real shame how these companies take advantage of people. I think they were both burned out because of the screws being too long in the motor and touching the armature.

The MOSFET usually blows during a crash @ full throttle. Depending on what you did to the board, I may be able to fix both of them for you. My going rate is $5 per RX.

UShobbysupply also has protection fuses. These are PTC "resettable" fuses, so when they "pop" you just have to let them cool down to reset.

Thanks for the advice Dave, I will try get in contact with the person you mentioned. What is the address so that I might consider sending the Rx,s and the mofsets to you, so you can see if there is anything you can do to help, thanks!

well since i have not gotten to fly yet been playing in my simulator. and seen they only had 1 belt cp left i went ahead and order it so when i get my f40 going and i learn i will have the next step to go to. they look nice on the shelf anyways....So should i do the fuse mod to this heli to and/or anyone i get?and thanks for all the help.

4in1 is fixed (better than new!) and will be heading back your way tomorrow.

I've never heard of anyone having problems with the Belt CP electronics, but someone else who actually has one can speak up if I'm wrong.

5 amp? Standard for the main is a 7 amp. Some high perf motors will even blow a 7 and need a 10 amp. Don't go higher than 10 amp fast blow with the OEM 4 in 1.

Was comparing replacement parts between Falcon 40 and Falcon 40 V2...out of the 33 stock replacement parts that can be purchased for original, only 13 parts are different. They are: main rotor blades, canopy, tail rotor blade, flybar paddles, battery holder, lipo, frame, receiver, charger, landing gear, rotor head, crytals, and transmitter. That leaves 20 of the same parts: including main motor, servos, bearings, bars, and gears. The V2 does have 4 optional CNC parts that you can purchase: rotor head , blade holders, swashplate, and guiding ring. Enjoy~! Ken

They have two different ones, I believe you are correct though, the main motor fuse is 10 amp. Check the website I included, it has the kit and two different fuses.

Well after breaking my fly bar I modified it to the .078" piano wire, while I was at it I replaced the rubber stopper on the tail rotor with a set collar.

So far 3 flights and it's only cost me a couple of blades and the fly bar, not bad. Still cheaper then golf lessons

Yep, the piano wire is a common "upgrade"

There is a set screw in the collar right? I can't see one in the picture.

The rubber stopper has it's good/bad. It does allow the tail to pop loose, potentially saving it in during a strike or crash.

+1

The stock MOSFET can handle 10A. And I think the stock motor can pull 6A.

you can get the CNC upgrades for the falcon 40 v2 at some place like xheli where each piece is like $20, or you can get the kit/individual pieces here at eastcoasthobbies for about $8-$11 a piece. I know it says on eastcoasthobbies that that kit is for the walkera 4#1, but I took a look at the two kits and they seem exactly the same to me...just a suggestion to save money

Gyro? The rate one on the heli is good, just not a HH unit.
I use the Telebee v2, reasonable price and dose a good job.
And yes you will need a pitch gauge along with two M-3 nut runners.
Michael has all available,
