Well, my Fleet of Falcon 40s have served their purpose. For those of you who are new here, I tried learning on a collective machine (Walkera 22E) lots of crashes cuz' it was just not docile enough for a beginner like me. Shelved it and ordered the Falcon 40. I'm happy to report that I can now fly quite well. Yesterday was my 1st day to fly the Falcon outside on a breezy day. Its OK in the wind you just have to read the direction of the wind and adjust your flying style to always keep air moving over the main rotors. When its windy, I don't do a nice smooth banking turn for fear of a stall. I just use the tail rotor to whip the rear around and have no troubles with wind. Mind you I'm talking about 5-8 mph of wind here, not a real blow like some days have been lately. So, I'm moving up to my new bird. Its an Align Trex 450SA, with the Astro 020 motor and a JR PCM radio w/ the Futaba 401 gyro, hitec meatl gear servos. Gonna put it together over the holidays and hope to have a mainde flight before new years. Been working a second job at night just to pay for it, the radio alone was a few $$ by itself. I write because I want to encourage all of you who are having a hard time with the steep learning curve. Some of you have your hands full with a basic tail-in hover. Well, guess what so did I!!!! Stick with it!!!! Practice Practice Practice Get as much time on the sim as you can, Practice some more and repeat. You'll have a great time when you get to forward flight and it will come natural to you soon enough. I'm not bailing on the RCU Falcon 40 bunch though, you guyz are Great, and wish all of you a Very Merry Christmas and may Santa bring you all those heli goodies on your wish list !!!!!! [:D] Regards, Robo
