Hi,

I am new to the hobby and to the forum, and after days of research I just pulled the trigger on buying a brand new E-Maxx. Based on my needs and interest I decided on a Monster Truck, 4WD, and battery operated. I am not going to race (yet) and wanted to graduate from the toy-grade truck I had. The decision came down to E-Savage or E-Maxx, and the availability of parts and options for E-Maxx sealed the deal for me. I also picked up 4 x 8.4v NiMH batteries with accelerators and 2 x smartchargers. I need the AA batteries and I believe I am good to go.

I also picked up the first couple of mods - a black annodized transmission cover and black aluminum bottom braces (going for the black scheme). I'm also looking at some black chrome wheels, some extra sets of tires, and a really cool looking bumper set.

I hope to read and learn a whole lot in the forum, and any ideas, suggestions or comments will be appreciated!

Let me know how it is, I'm interested in building a dual brushless MT. It is a toss up between a stock EMaxx or a GorillaMaxx Revo. How fast does it go stock?

The emaxx is very durable out of the box...

My E-maxx has seen many beatings and has held up very well. I have gotten to a point that i do not break anything on it anymore..

A few recomended upgrades are the same a T-maxx: alluiminum bulkheads, Aftermarket cvds, Rpm A-arms once you break the stock ones.

A number one sugestion is put a piece of foam under the speed control and screw it down.. I broke a EVX speed control from shock twice. Once i put the foam under it has not broke since..

The E-maxx will go about 30 MPH with 7 cell packs and about 25 MPH with 6 cells.

Enjoy the E-maxx...

Stock E Maxx on 6 cell packs is good for around 25-27 MPH.

If you want INSANE power, then look into a Plettenberg/LiPo combo.

Plan on rebuilding/upgrading EVERYTHING in the drivetrain with that combo.
