DOTS?
Oh you mean flush against the box as in long ways, but instead of laying them in the hull flat, tilt them up against the box. I really like that idea. More weight closest to the keel. Don't know if that weight is needed distributed along the hull, but well worth the try. That's thinking outside the "pack". I will have to try that one as soon as this freagin cold trough leaves. I want to get new trials with the bushing mod first. A little velcro against the box and next run will be with packs in your config.
I'm going to wait on the 123s until spring. By then, more chargers will be out that'll do all packs including the 123s. I really want to go in that direction but just can't justify ditching right now the $100 charger and $500 for the packs I already have. They seem to be growing into new configs constantly with great customer interaction from the rc community, so I'm sure new configs are on the horizon.

Heh Heh, I saw that edit WL Oh dots. I laughed, damn knew I shouldve clicked on quote.

Thinking out side the pack Black, I was thinking other ways to. Inside against the Box on edge and outside against the hull on edge. That might act like riggers. These packs are like 15oz each. Thats almost 2lbs to move around. That has to affect handling in a big way. It might be bad in the turns but solid on the straight, or not. Im thinking SAWS runs. Somebody wants to drag I pull it in for fresh packs and move em around.

The other thing I was thinking was leave em flat but raise em up, or wedge them from the front. Really mess with the CG. Might need a wheelie bar next. I am sure guys have messed with this but I havent looked to hard. It just seems to me there is to much bottom weight. The motor wants to pull it up. What if we help it and raise the weight and CG some? Then the position of the pack front to rear will be more important to of course. Might mess with the prop app a lot to.

Damn I need a fix and cant run till spring cause Im DOTS and DFW

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmhhhh

new batts are here. The 4600 are actually a little bigger then a regular 6 cell pack. But the 2300 are looking sweet.
Hope there will be no ice on the pond this weekend ....

Speederson,
Well, since we have the batts figured for max performance peaking to 120F then running hot, and the bushing mod, I think you're right.......have to start moving CG around to find a little extra. But I think if too much movement is done, finding the right setup will never happen because of all the trim differences. It will be easier with adjustable trims. Oh yeah.
I do know this, just a tad forward of my CG mark, and she'll run wetter than when on loose water. Not good. I really want to try your idea by leaning them sideways and longways against the box. Maybe this weekend.....we'll be back in the 50s.

I don't make my own packs, but a different pack stack might work also (4 on the bottom and 2 on top).

Wazool,
Nice to see the packs made it. Pretty quick service. Somebody's going to have a pack attack this weekend if they can't get on the water. So the 4600s are larger, but that might be a good thing.....better fit. But you are 200g or so lighter too (per pack), so quit it. Haha.

Any indoor large pools around?

I agree to that. And hurry before we get hi-jacked again and forced to look or buy something else. (Talking about what's going down in the new microhydro thread Jfruge started.)
John-We got your six.

Wazool,
Any thoughts of going 18-24 cell now that the added weight delima has been nixed using these cells?

The reason I ask....these A123s are sub-c right? If so, same rules apply to these being sub-c, or will the class be different? I don't know.....still getting the rules digested.

Grim made getting into the sport easy enough....now the rules just need to be simplified.

My thinking on the cell count would be that they are treated just as lipos would by the voltage I assume but do not know. I did not have time to unpack everything this morning and did not examine the turbo module, I do not know in what increments the voltage can be set. But I certainly will try to run the SV with the light 2300s and a comparable voltage setting as 14-15 cells would have (15-16voltzzzzz), just to see how she fliesssssssssssssssssss, as she certainly did with the 16-cell-incident

Just a friendly reminder to lower the trims if you haven't already. It wouldn't be cool to launch her vertically. Well......actually.....it would.
