Mindcrime and Rc Boss,

We just got our 2-speed in after waiting 6-weeks and installed it and noticed it is not shifting. We have our Vulcan SE tuned real good for low and high speeds but cannot hear the trans shift. We have many Nitro RC cars so we are not new to the game. We have not touched the set screw for the shifting yet. Also is the set screw 1mm as in the manual. Also if I were to adjust it would I adjust it from the bottom or the top of the car. I see a couple of very small access holes.

PS. My son seems to think it is stuck in 2nd gear cause he doesn't notice the high RPM sound.

Thank You,

sounds like it needs to be adjusted, you can do this from the top of the car, find the cut-out in the gear, hold the gear and roll the car forward or back until you see the set screw, you should be able to get it to shift once you adjust it...turning it in will make it shift later, turning it out should make it shift sooner.....hope this helps...

Mincrime,

We got the 2-speed shifting real good now. It seems the adjusting set screw was bottom out from the factory and after several adjustments we got it just right. We are getting my son the Rascal for Christmas but he still likes his Vulcan SE. He also has a fully hopped up Savage, NTC3 and we just got my dream RC car which is a Power Racing XR80 last week which we will be hopping up.

PS, For my sons Vulcan we have a Dynamite Micro Failsafe installed and a Xray 700mah battery pack from their NT18 which works great and we never have to change batteries and never open the battery case since we bought a extension lead for the battery pack and just charge it on the outside of the car.

No mindcrime i dont need that part now. MY RASCAL IS JUST FINE.

AT LEAST IT RUNS AND SHIFTS LIKE A NEW TRUCK SHOULD. GOOD LUCK WITH THE VULCANS. THEY WERE A GOOD EFFORT BUT ONLY A EFFORT NOT A FINSHED PRODUCT IF YOU ASK ME. THE BALL WAS DROPPED BIG TIME.

Sorry but I have no idea where you can get a 2 speed for a Rascal. I do not think they make one.

As a reminder, this forum is for support of IRC Racing products.

rascal_man, I got mine off of EBay for 13 notes.

But be warned, I am very unimpressed!

Maybe it is just the one I got, but the first time it shifted to 2nd, (While I was holding it off the ground), there was a jolt and I got showered in plastic spur gear teath!!!

SO I put the singles speed spur gear on, took it out today, BANG, same thing!!
And I don't think you can buy spur gears seperatly, unless some one knows better and can let me know.

So, If you want a 2spd cheap you can have mine! I am going back to single speed.
The little thing was only meant as a spare car in case my Genesis dies, which it also did today!!

Out for 20 mins and kill both trucks and only drove about 200m!!!!!!

Back to the drawing board!
