The Unknown Catalogs that are posted on the IMAC website are really the 05 Catalogs. The Unknown Catalogs were updated in 2006 with a few changes, but for what ever reason were never posted on the IMAC website. In the 2006 Sportsman Unknown Catalog, figure 9.9.8.4 (positive snap on inverted line) is legal at the top of a half or full inside loop, and was the same in the 06 Known Matrix
We are currently working on the 07 Unknown Catalogs, the changes year to year are minor and for the most part have to due with keeping Unknown Catalogs in line with the Known Matrix for each class. What you all should know is that the Unknown Catalog is intended to be a sub-set, more detailed version of the Known Matrix. As a sub-set there will be figures that are legal for a Known, but not legal for a Unknown.
Hopefully when we get the 07 Unknown catalogs finished and checked we will get them posted to the IMAC website along with the 2007 Known Matrix.

Question on figure 5 in the sequence, once you start flying the sequence on a line in front of your self you now will have to fly a new line for the remainder of the sequence based on the humpty being flown in front of you. as this is not a cross box figure you can't come back to your original line. will this be a problem for some of you? You are correct. Figure 5 will displace you either in or out depending on how you fly it. This is not a problem. I can also almost guarantee that you will need this figure to adjust yourself based on the wind and improper wind correction during the earlier parts of the sequence!!

Once the new line has been established on the X-axis you must maintain that line or be downgraded.

You can also fly your hammerhead reverse....i.e if you fly the humpty outbound fly the hammerhead inbound. This will give you one wing distance back into your orginal line.

Actually that would be a 1/2 span without a deduction. Pivot around a point between the center line of the fuse and a wing tip is 0 deduction. After that the points start melting away. The pivot direction in a hammerhead is really of very little use in positioning. I will usually try to pivot "into" the wind if I can since this can help mask a minor flaw in the rotation about the yaw axis.

That's what I meant by wingspan....sorry I was unclear.

But by going that way, it would be far easier to mask a correction into the next manuever to get your out spacing back where you want it.

Actually, if you make your humpty correctly, you can almost get back on the same track/line.
