Your Spitfire is really looking, and taking shape now. What colour scheme are you planning?

Allan,

it will be the PR Blue scheme. I am going to try and find a color match today. I plan on using Behr exterior Latex, and through the website you sent me, I found a Testor's color for the PR Blue. I am going to have that matched/mixed and see what happens.

Be still my fluttering heart. That is one awesome bird Todd. I have a soft spot for Spits as my uncle flew them in Burma in WW11. I have an original color pic of his plane on my mantle and it is my most prized possession. As to the model, I understand that the Taylor Spit is one of the favorites. Is there any advantage (or disadvantage) to using the glass fuse as opposed to the wood? Also, where can I find a Moki engine?

thanks for compliments Randy
As far as the fuse, it works great. Vic layed these up
with panels lines and all. So most of the hard work has
already been done there. No planking, sanding and all.
Only have to sand and clean the areas on the inside to
allow the epoxy to stick for the formers.
Other than that I would do another glass fuse plane
in a heartbeat!
The Moki I got thru a LHS, I dont remember with of the"big"
dealers carry them (Horizon, Tower?)
Would be real nice to do a Spitfire in the scheme of your
Uncle's. Would be a wonderful compliment to him.
If you do, let us see it!

Todd
