i forgot to mention, the green electronic board is from intairco, it controls the jetcat fuel valve from radio channel for switched fuel stop from tx, required in australia as well as manuel stop valve

Look what landed in my F-16 today!!

G-booster 16 (16 kg/160N) kerostart, what a beauty! I can't wait to start it without the gas!!
I have seen one start before, and it was perfect - so I have high hopes for this one!

Also picked up the Weatronic Dual Receiver 10-20 gyro with built-in powerbox, servo adjustment,
gyro and fail-safe in the receiver. 2 batteries and up to 20 servos connects to this one...

Hi blackcat -
I see you have added some more decals/transfers to your plane - did you make them yourself
or did you buy it somewhere?
I would like to add a little more myself, and have been looking for something like that.

Have you maidened the F16 yet??

g'day tor, no extra decals on my model, thats how it arrived,
i want to maiden asap, but will delay for around 2 weeks, my legplaster comes off after 7 more days, so maybe its better to wait until then, anyway i don't trust my friends to be able to follow instructions as to what not to touch (jeremy, stress sisters)
i can see it now, me hollering "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO....................... NOT, NOT THERE, LEAVE IT, LEAVE IT, DON'T REST IT ON THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!................... LIFT IT,,,,,,,,,,,, LOOK OUT FOR THE DOORS, THE DOORS, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.......... AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I think i'll wait, 1 more week won't hurt

Hi Tor,
the applied decals are dependent on which Camo kit you ordered. The F16 1/6th has 4 different camo schemes available, and of course the decals are specific to each one.

Thanks, Dave -
I thought that was the case, but was hoping that the bombs and rockets on the side of the canopy + some other
details would be available separately. Well, let's get this thing flying first, and worry about the scale details
later!

blackcat, are you using any RF suppression units for the long servo cables?

I have reinforced the turbine mount plates with carbon and used an aluminium servo 90* angle to bolt the mounts
to the main formers, I also made a carbon 1/2 bypass (bottom only, to prevent debris being thrown up
by the wheels) - this comes between the turbine and my servo leads, I don't
know, but maybe the carbon will shelter the cables from turbine static or electronic noise...

Hi Tor,
Why didn't you use the carbon fibre bypass that comes with the kit? Was there a problem?
personally I would run the cables down each side of the model, using a heat proof fiber sheet tube to run the cables in and out of the way of everything else.
Regards
Dave

Dave,
I didn't order the bypass as I have not used one in my F15, but someone told me that
with the narrow wheel base on the F16, there was a much bigger possibility of debris
being thrown up and into the plane - that's why I made the lower bypass. For both my
other jets the double walled pipe has always been very cool on the outside, and so I
have simply made certain that the cables are as far away from the pipe and the turbine
as possible, heat has never been a problem.

I try to keep all radio related equipment and cables on one side of the plane and all
turbine related stuff on the other side, so I have one stab and one flap cable crossing
the plane right behind the back main former, all the way down in the bottom of the fuse.

The Weatronic dual receiver is in place, and I changed the stab servo arms from HD
plastic to aluminium, and replaced the clevis with ball links.

Hi guys!

I trimmed down the removable board behind the cockpit area so I can take it out through the
cockpit opening. I have placed everything that connects to the turbine on this board, as well as
the hopper tank with center pickup. Everything is held in place with ties or screws, except the
ECU which sit on industrial Velcro.

The board first got a coat of epoxy, and was painted matt white for appearance.

All fuel lines between the tanks, the hopper and into the pump is 6mm Festo with connectors,
from the pump to the turbine it is 4 mm Festo with an extra 3 mm Festo to the kero start.

It will be quite easily serviceable as I can take out the entire board with everything mounted
on it.

Just waiting for the batteries for the Weatronic - I had ordered two 6V packs since I planned to use a regular
Futaba receiver, but the Weatronic needs 7,2V packs, so they were returned to have one cell added.
I installed the board with all the turbine stuff, the main tank, all tubes and cables today.

I filled and drained all the tanks to check for sequence and leaks, everything
looks good! I also did an aborted auto-start on the G-Booster, and it seems to be ready to go!

There was a small problem with my JetTronics sequencer, so I am waiting for a replacement before I can go fly,
but most importantly, I will probably have to wait until after Easter because of work
(and a two week vacation to India!! )

Anyway, I think I'll have to buy a new car or a trailer to transport this thing!
