I am new to forum... am setting up Great Planes Ultimate and would like to go w/dual receivers ... I notice you guys all seem to use one receiver. Can I set up using Smart Fly and two receivers? Should I ? I want to have full redundancy. Am using DA 50 w/ignition. I am just looking for safest setup that will enable me to keep plane as long as possible.

Thanks much for replies !

Hi Doug,
If you want to go with dual receivers in a plane that size I would say that you would not want to use a PowerExpander. It only works with a single receiver and would not make sense for a dual receiver setup in that size plane. If you are using lithium batteries take a look at our adjustable regulators. Most people fly a 50cc plane on a single receiver. Battery redundancy is a good idea though if you are using a single receiver. If you want to consider going that way you can look at our PowerExpander Sport, or if you want to run just off your receiver, our SuperReg for dual lithium batteries.
Please let me know if I can be of any further assitance.

Thanks Robert, that helps me w/additional info ... if I use dual receivers (which I think at this point , I prob. will) I will definitely use your other products as they have a great reputation. MOF I decided on my second plane - the Pacific Aeromodel 540 Edge and the reviewer used all your stuff !

Hi,
It won't really be like the weetronic unit. It will support two real receivers, the weetronic unit just has two RF front ends, the microprocessor that decodes the pulses and sends them to the receiver is not redundant. It will also have redundant regulators, Ignition Cutoff and maybe an ignition regulator. This is not a sure thing yet. Have not even gotten it in the air yet but we might have a plane with it in at Tucson.
