Hi, I've been reading this site for quite some time know.........very good site and information.

I have purchased a Shockwave 55 ss this summer and I have been very please with it for my first time rc boat.

I am in the process of modifing the exhaust to exit out the back like real boats.

I also want to make it wet pipe and I would like to have any suggestion has to where to place the water inlet on the back pipe so that the water comes out equally on the 4 tail pipes.

Here's some pics on were I think they should be.
The red lines are the tail pipe location and the green dot is were the water inlet should be.

Thank you.
Luc.

Sorry for the slow post.

I personally would add a single water nipple at the bottom elbow where your motor pipe ends and the copper begins. The water will be blown up the pipe with no problem and will find its own way out the pipes. Adding a second fitting to equalize flow will be unnecessary.

Thank for the suggestion justaddwata.......Not a slow responce....we just expect to have an answer almost right away with a board like this one.

I will have to put 2 nipples somewere in the back pipe cuz one is comming from the motor and the other one is comming from the pipe/heather cooling cuppling.

I did something very similar to this a couple years ago.
I ran 4 tips through the hull.
Here is what I found:
The water came out all 4 but most came out at the end or the last tip as did most of the exh. flow.
If you want it to look the same as far as water coming out of the tips, you have to place nipples in each tip just before they exit the hull.
I found that there was a bit of power loss as well doing this.
Due to the design of the pipe, and the addded flow restrictions from the water, I couldn't tune to my powerband.
Just my .02.

good luck.

Thanks Bryan for letting me know how was your experience with a similar set-up.

I though that too, most of the flow will be oriented more in the end..........if that is the case I will put a somekind of deflector in the middle of the back pipe to compensate.

What size of tubbing were you using????

I am using 3/4" right after the original tune pipe and it goes into the back section which is 1 inch pipe and then their is 4 small pipe of 1/2" exterior diameter.

My setup was very similar size wise as well.
It looked pretty cool.
And had a different sound too.

I prefer the noise so I use a tuned dry pipe now...
