I'm working on my first Carden kit. 35% Extra. I have come across several threads on RCU regarding carbon fiber gear delaminating. I am currently flying a 33% Extra (H9) and have gone through three metal and two carbon fiber gear. The metal ones broke off at the bend, the CF delaminated. Does anyone have any feedback regarding the gear that is provided in the kit or suggestions on keeping the oproblem from reoccuring. Any suggestions woud be appreciated.

The gear in a 35% Carden are unbreakable. The mount is almost impossible to rip out. I have made the gear on my Cap real ugly a few times. Broke an axel on a fast touch and go one time . Bent the gear all the way to the fus.

Jut use the gear that came with the kit and you wont have any problems. Carden landing gears and the attachment method is pretty tough.

I saw a carden that was broke in half and the gear survived, only slightly bent.

forgive me......but if you have broken that many gear.... you really need to work on landing....

the bigger the plane the more fragile they can be... they fly awesome, but they are built light... at least should be...
it is assumed if you are flying larger airplanes that you have some skills... and that includes landing...

sure, we all batch landings every once and a while....

but 5 gear??? It really seems that several tanks should be burned just working on tough and go landings...

Really not meant to be a jerk at all... but just an observation
