Dude, any car will be fine if you take care of it, or cherish it as you do. Don't get on everyone's back if they don't agree with you. Get a grip and a clue, not everyone likes traxxas, so live with it. OK, you like them, I think everyone knows it, so SHUT UP!!!!!
Not liking Traxxas and automatically calling them junk are two different stories. Why is it that everyone gets on Blackfoot's ass when he supports traxxas?

"any car will be fine as long as you take care of it" that is entirely untrue. I take the best care of my IRC vulcan and I still grenade spur gear, completely annilate differentials and go through tires every week. I don't beat the crap out of it, I take it easy.. Yet something ALWAYS goes. MAYBE I got a lemon, maybe I didn't.. But I don't go around like everyone on this forum with one bad experience and bad mouth a certain brand.

I personally have removed the e-z starts from my rusty and maxx, but I did so because I had problems with them all of the time, and because they are really heavy. I went with a roto-start, but wouldn't really reccomend it to anyone unless they really want to drop the weight or are having probelms with the e-z start. I find the rotostart to be a bit more of a pain that the e-z start wand because you have to attach the shaft and then fit it into the starter plate, while the e-z start allows you to just plug into the top mounted plug. The one comment I have for anyone looking to mount a roto-start on a rustler is that you have to pick the rotostart backplate carefully. I am using a t-maxx rotostart plate and I have to angle my starter shaft a lot to clear my header. I'm sure if I had a different plate it wouldn't be an issue, but that is what I had on hand so I used it.

I did not have trouble with the ez start, but removed it for performance purposes when rebuilding my son's old rusty. The 7 year old received a make over two years ago. I made a custom header for the Sirio 18. The starter shaft fit perfect.

May I ask where you got the graphite chassis and how much it was?

is it just me or do you guys see some irony in blackfoot telling people not to make threads into warzones? sorry dude, this is not a personal attack, id just really appreciate you callming down a little. if you really didn't care what someone thought, you wouldn't make posts like that. hey, even though i don't like traxxas very much because of my experience with them, i still think the post you reacted to was rediculous. but that doesn't mean you should start a flame war man. that just encourages people to continue it. where's the love in that?

When some mook comes into the thread and names me out of the bunch, Hell yeah Im gonna go off. Just like if I came into a thread your involved in and singled anyone out of the bunch. I would be due for a chewing as well.

The poor guy asked what he needed for his New Rustler. You all come in and tell him its junk or this is better or that Traxxas make sh*ty products. He asked for advise on what he needed, not what junk part do YOU guys want me to take off or to toss the whole thing away or what your opinion of Traxxas is.

What the hell does any of this bashing and garbage talking about the guys choice in RC have to do with his topic?

i.e.
The EZ Start is junk
Traxxas makes ****ty Cars
My friend over reved his engine and the tire blew up in his eye
Ditch the rusty and the ezstart and get an Xcellerator
Blackfoot this, blackfoot that. Waa Waaa Waaaaa

Stick to the freaking topic on what HE NEEDS for his Rustler and things wont turn into a Flamewar. The poor guy probaby is too scared to even run it now with all the bashing about his truck that everyone does. Some help you have all been.

The lower chassis is a Holeshot Engineering. Not too good. The first one had the holes off so far it was worthless. They took there sweet time sending me a new one (3 weeks) after I sent the first one back Priority. The second one was a better fit but the finish was not as good as the first. I only had to oblong one hole and pri a little. I did have to file the peg hole for the transaxle and grind back two edges for clearence. If a little fab work does not bother you, have fun!

BTW, the RD Logics CF parts (all the other CF parts) fit and finish is world class! Much better than Holeshot! However, they make no lower chassis.

Tough crap basher89426, basherboy, or babyboy. Your gonna hear it anyway! You picked me out of the crowd so here ya go junior.
Get a grip and a clue. Just coz yer friend had a mishap due to ignorant stupidity of gassing a 30,000+ RPM nitro, when it was off the ground, DUH!!!! Its instantly Traxxas fault he was that foolish. The tire isnt made to turn that high of speed, even if LOSI or proline made it let alone Traxxas.

Traxxas doesnt make sh***y products. Its the morons who expect them to be something they are not that are the problem. Every company makes a lemon. Duratrash made the Evader of mine thats a pile. Not all Evaders are junk, but some bones slip through the cracks.

Its guys like you that bash something you dont like and criticize products that are perfectly fine in thier own right, that make posts into warzones. Especillay when you single someone out who could give a rats a** what you think or your clueless friend did out of stupidity. Keep the EZ Start or ditch it. Its your choice either way. Go get that X-Cellerator like he advises, and try to find parts for it. That why I sold both my electric XCells. Parts are nowhere to be found but online. No LHS in the 100 mile radius from here will stock parts for them.

Dont tell everyone that Traxxas is crap just coz you or someone you know has had bad luck with one. I had bad luck with the Evader, but dont go and tell everyone I can to stay away from them, coz alot of ppl have had better luck them then I have, just as Ive had EXCELLENT luck with all my Traxxas products. HMMM, now that I count them all, Ive owned 13 excellent Traxxas RCs and will continue to support them.

TRAXXAS ROCKS!!!!

ur such a little girl dude! chill out, wut do u have pms? I have 2 X-cellerator and I HAVE tons of hop ups for it. Its the best truck I've ever owned. And dont bag on my friend hes a great guy and it goes to show all you know about rc (the wheels dont spin at 30,000 rpms no matter how much you gas it!) plus he wasnt just holding it off the ground and dumping the throttle he only reved it once and the tires (that I think are trash) balooned and ripped and that was probably at 1/3 throttle. my STOCK x-cellerator tires barley balloon at full throttle (and YES I HAVE tried it). So please just SHUT UP!!!!!!!!!!!! And stop wasting everyones time.

You are a teenage kid. Grow up son. You have been in this hobby all of 10 minutes and talk like you know whats going on. I never said the tires turn 30,000 I said the motor. Stop ditching classes and learn to read Pee Wee. You probably dont even own a Nitro and are posting on a Nitro subject. All of which is childish negativity. When you turn old enuff to get a job and buy a Nitro. Then you can come play with the big boys. Let mommy have her computer back and go do your homework. Im glad your buddys a good guy. Maybe you should let some of it rub of on you sometime.

You post how you have a "Hopped up" X-Cell. Then correct yourself and state how "Your Stock" X-Cell wont balloon the tires. You havent a clue what you have and dont. Tyco and Nikko is in the Walmart Toy isles junior.

If you want someone to Shut Up then you wont have much to say to keep this going. Keep the topic on topic. You talked alot of trash on this guys topic, all of which was way off topic! If you want to keep this up then bring it to PM. Ill happily carry it out there.

are you adjusting the wheels while your sitting, or while you're driving? try adjusting them when your moving, it makes it alot easier.

Well, Its nice to know at least people care about there hobbies. lol

I for one am in love with traxxis, every thing they come out withis better and better in there own little way. But the bad thing about traxxas is there parts are not good in the long run. Sure you can open your box, have a RTR car with the EZ-Start system, start that **** up and run it for days, but after a while the E-Z start motor wears, the radio equipment goes blah blah blah. This is all the reason why its RTR not Ready to Last, I have never owned a Nitro rustler, I owned an electric one and it was awesome. The rustlers are GREAT cars, but expect to dump some money in them in a month are so, you can do it gradualy and get it over with it also. You are gonna need some nice servos, and probably a replacement E-Z Start if you prefer, a pull start, or a starter box, I would give the respecible advice of a new E-Z Start system or a pull starter. In my opinion if there is a way to avoid the box, do it.

So get yourself some A-Arms, some Shock towers, and some servos, and be prepared a little down the road to find a new starting technique and you will be fine. But out of the box, you will have a kick ass time.

Have fun,
Andrew
