    throttle trim recovery --
the book leaves out some info -
if activated -- the trim -when set to oerate will return to idle-by one click
    HOWEVER -
the position it advances to -is th one where the trim lever is the last time the throttle stick is activated - run the program in th servo visual trace screen and you will see it happen. This is a good thing --
One more thing - mix throttle to throttle with throttle stick down - (in mix 1 ) punch in 100%
    choose FLAP2 for the switch
go back to the visual trace screen -
note that when the flap 2 is actuated the throttle -if in a less than high trim position -- goes to full off- so it makes a nice shutoff - if you accidently hit the flap switch when flying at 1/2 or above - the engine will slow slightly but not shut down
Do not do this mix if th e flap switch is used for flaps!

Why not just mix the channel with itself with an offset and you should be able to kill the engine.

    Edwin,
Sorry, I didn't mean any harm, just wanting all to be successful. Good luck this weekend. landings = takeoffs for all!!

Dick, I like that idea, thats the way my super 8 was, it didn't zing the throttle servo to off, it just reduced it about 10 percent so I didn't screw up. I almost killed a buddy's plane the other day by bumping his airtronics kill. thanks.

Geistware, what do you mean, that is differnet than Dick explained?

    Capt Jim,
I just tried something for aux 2, I inhibited the switch, but enable the aux 2 trim, and hooked it to a servo, and was able to move it, so If your kill switch operates like most that use a signal above neutral 1500 to turn on, and below to turn off, you could run the aux trim full up to run, and full down to kill, when it crosses neutral it kills it. I don't have micro switch handy to test theory, but at least you couldn't bump it dead. just make sure nothing else mixes into aux2, and you inhibit the swich. Just a thought, and am not sure if it would work. I turn my lights off and on on my park flyer like that, by rotating a trim knob. anyone want to hook a switch to aux and try it?

Best to all, I will be off for a couple of days, gotta drive to texas. anyone flying saturday near fort worth?

No problem goose, a reminder isnt a bad thing. I have that memory burned in permenently, watching that big 110 circle slowly and losing ~20' each pass until it ground itself into the dirt. Took about 5 minutes of free flight to do that. A real sick feeling I wont soon forget.
I test flew the DX7 yesterday, only two flights. What can I say, I like it. I flew it out as far as I fly the big planes with no troubles. Well, except that old beater plane hadnt been run in awhile. The engine was cantankerous so I'll move it to a backup trainer I have and put some more flights on it before moving it to my everyday planes.

Hi all....I have been reading all the post with interest. I have been a Futaba user for years and now have a DX7. I have been watching the 2.4 gig technology develop and had to have one mainly for the elimination of having to worry about getting shot down. I have seen this happen more than once. I set my DX7 up on my Sig Mayhem without any problems other than having to recenter the ailerons. I am wondering if Spektrum will at some point offer firmware upgrades. Any thoughts.

For everyone's information, Horizon Hobby's website has 11 videos on the DX7.

If you go at 100% you can over drive the channel and bind the servo.
That is why you add throw until the engine stops. Usually you will only need about 10% or so.

GW, I got mine yesterday and took it to our Club meeting/Christmas party last PM and it drew a lot of attention. Today I put it in my Apache III, when I hooked up al the servos the lights came on solid and the servos worked so I guess it had already been bonded. I re-bonded it after setting all the throws. The very first thing this AM I hacked the cords off of the wall charger and equipped them with banana plugs for my SuperNova 250s.

I noticed that too... I was considering giving Horizon a call as I would like to have the higher amp charger for charging larger packs. It is the same wall wart as the one that comes with the DX-6...

My LHS called Horizon and was told it was an error in the manual. Of course that doesn't fix the charger.

    FWIW......

MY QUESTION......via email to product support

Having read this on your web site. Does it mean the AR6000 receivers I already have will use the ModelMatch feature that is in the DX7 transmitter? I have both the DX6 and DX7.

    IN THE MANUAL....

    AR6000-Compatible:
DX6 owners and anyone else who flies small electric models will be pleased to know that the AR6000 receiver works perfectly with DX7 too. In fact, the AR6000 will actually benefit from the DX7’s signal speed advantages, as well as ModelMatch and ServoSync. So whatever the aircraft, be it a .60-size heli or a 15-ounce foamie, it can fly with the DX7.

    THEIR ANSWER...

Thank you for your recent email.

Yes the AR6000 receivers will use the model match feature. If you have any further questions please feel free to give us a call at 1-877-504-0233.
