bruce! that i/2 tirn did it!!!
regardless of all the numbers u gave me ! still i get no answer on how to get into theradio program and restrict the trim clicks to a minumum, futaba default is set @4, what's the deffault on the d7? and can I change it!!! that's what i want to know!!!
thanx for the info on the distance of the clevice turns , i will consider that in the future

I couldn't find anything in the manual. I'd be asking here: http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/forumid_116/tt.htm on the manufacturers forum for a straight answer. This isn't a high end radio no matter what people think of it. It simply may not have the feature.

I'm not sure I'd call it a low-end radio but no, it does not offer trim step adjustment. The default for JR/Spektrum is also 4, meaning the servo moves 4 positions (1 position being the absolute smallest movement possible) for every click of the trim.

I didn't mean to imply that it was a "low" end radio, just not "high" end. It's a good radio for the price range. Want more? Pay more. It's usually just that simple.

Isn't that why we have the option to fit modules to our high end radios? then we get everything we ever wanted.

As far as I can see there is no way to put true expo on the throttle, however you can put a hump in the throttle curve by mixing THR too THR on a mix setting and introducing an offset, having said all that the easiest way to put expo on the throttle is too arrange the throttle servo horn to be pointing straight down the push rod on throttle cut, and have the linkages set up to give full servo movement for WOT, this gives you slow throttle opening from idle and a much faster opening as the throttle gets up towards full, I use this method on my petrol engines as its only the first third of the throttle opening on a Walboro carb that has any effect in real terms.

Thanx Mike. I was afraid of that. I do already have my servo alignment pointing straight down the pushrod at idle and that does help a lot.
However, it sure makes getting the idle speed adjustment just right as trim has no effect.

Just to be clear, I have the servo arm pointing down the push rod at throttle cut set up on the TX, this then means the servo has moved up the arc just a little for idle and then the trim does work, but over a very small arc of movement which I have found allows a very fine idle adjustment, I have also found that once set up further adjustments are not required, its a good indication that somthing has moved if you have to adjust the servo and or mixture once set up proply.

The problem with the above statement is that: We all have them in our club, if the engine does not start straight away the neddle valve is wound out until it fires and then wound back in again and then fiddled with until they give up and say "It was fine last week" I love them dearly and would not be without them in my club. Agree about the "adjusters" in the club BaldEagle. That's what makes clubs so much fun. And my particular DL50 starts right up literally every time (knock on wood) so I never mess with the needles anymore now that it's tuned in.

I will try moving the servo horn back buy one tooth on the drive shaft so I can get a little trim. Although, once I get the pushrod length adjusted just right, I should not need it. I use an optical kill switch on the gear channel to shut the thing down.
