Hey everyone its the classic, "What should we do?",
My son and I are in the process of building a YELLOW P-38J using two Zenoah G-38A engines.
Question: Should we be satisfied with:
1. Using them straight away.
2. Running them on a test stand for an appropriate time.
3. Building a single engine type and "testing" them that way.
I will not tell you the "whos" of each approach, only that the father is 70 and the son is 30. Oh, yes both of us started in to this hobby about 10 months ago. (Experience: three builds-2 ARFs one pre-built, another ARF [F4U] and Kit [Cessana 182] on the production line, as it were. GUESS who is the sometime builder and who is the flyer.

I break-in run all my engines on a test stand. Just break it in good on a test stand then they should be fine for the aircraft.
