APC has a 14x6.

on this plane you only have the ground clearance for a 12 inch prop

Hmmm, the only other options are to find an engine with reverse rotation or install longer gear. I wonder if you called one of the prop companies if they could make a couple batches of pushers for these models.

That is a negative on the longer gear if you plan on using the stock retracts. For one, it is not possible to change out the main gear struts. If you do manage to change out the struts, you will have to deal with modifying the wing and it will just be a headache in general.

I honestly think the best engine/prop combo for this plane is the tower 75 with an APC 11X7 prop. If you are going to use a 91 sized engine, it is probably best to use a ducted fan setup. I don't know if there are any 3 blade props out there that can be used with a 91 sized engine that can match the efficiency and speed of the 11X7 APC 2-blade prop.

Did I hear a ducted fan, mine is converted to GDF and I am really really pleased with it. I hope the pictures does this model justice. OS91 VRDF with a Ramtec Fan and I get near vertical performance.

Iam putting together a Keecat and am a bit puzzled with the fuel tank position ,does the engine need a pump to operate properly ?
I plan on using an OS 75.
Any advice welcome

You would be better off using an APC prop...they are a lot better for speed.

That will probably be faster than any 12" wood prop but give it a try...I might be wrong...props are cheap anyway.

ORdered a graupner 12x8 3 blade and a aPC 11x7 2 blade to try on the ST.91. Any other ideas??

I can only vouch for the 11X7 on a .75 and it will perform. I am interested in hearing how the graupner will do...let us know.

Im still not home yet for 2 more weeks
John ran the engine with a 11x8 on it, and he said the thrust was amazing, we will tach it soon with the ST.90 ringed with the bison muffler. Its an older motor from the old factory and its a screamer, well broken in already.

I maiden it on the 24th, the day after I get back. I think the 3blade 12x8 is too much by the sound of it. we may try cutting it down to 11x8x3. The perfect size would be 12x8 pusher.....APC the MODELING COMMUNITY WANTS A 11x8 and 12X8 pusher speed prop PLEASE

thanks for all the hints people.I am alittle worried about prop clearance , i have a st 75 with an apc 11x7 and have a worrying 1/2 inch clearance with 3/8inch down trust .this looks as though climb out is going to be very shallow any thoughts ? what clearance have you lot got ? am i going to have to lift the engine? my first balance nose weight has come out at 12ounces or 350 gramms at 9.5 incches from t/edge but maiden has to wait until funds are available for abig battery!!
