You want floats that are about 75-80% of the distance from engine backplate to rudder hinge line.

im in jupiter florida, right next to west palm beach. i was just wondering about floats because i might be able to find a spot close to where i live to fly my plane(like a canal or lake in my area, ie 5ish miles from home) instead of haveing a nice 30+min drive to fly at the field. not a long drive but seening as i have no car (yet ) , it be easyer to get a ride to some place closer.

I put 33 inch Sullivan floats on mine. They work great.

I flew my Kadet MKII on home made foam floats for years. Very fun!!!! If you want I can give you the dimensions. I just bought another aluminum landing gear mount and mounted that right behind the firewall for the set up.
