dzgruntld I would say yes if you are going to continue to race it would be worth it to get a transponder. You can find them used for around $70 so thats like 23 or 24 times to the track. It sounds like alot but also dont forget the convenience of not having to take your transponder in and out after every race. That becomes a pain. I am not positive but we dont really have alot of regulations as far as batteries and motors go so you should be fine getting the biggest and baddest motors and batteries you can afford!

It is used for automated lap counting. It goes over a loop buried in the ground and is counted for lap times and number of laps.

Thanks Illeagle

a transponder attaches to your r/c car, truck, whatever, and the track has a computer with wires that go underground, every time you cross the wire your transponder sends a que to the computer and that gives a accurate lap time!! some tracks like greenflag have rentals you just clip in, but alot of tracks down the hill do not offer these you must buy one!! there just over 100bucks new but like illeagle said you can find used ones cheaper but they sell within a hour or so after being posted!!

What kind of lap counting system is used at Greenflag? Towerhobbies sells a transponder for the Robitronic lap counter system.

1. Any ideas of the common motor and battery set up?
Brushed, Brushless, LiPo's, NiMH's ???

2.Appears to be at least 7 minutes for the Electric Trucks A main
by your print outs of the races. Yes??

Thanks
