No com fluid is short for commutator fluid. Most of the time people call them Com Drops. Trinity and others make them, and they are electrically conductive drops that increase the conductivity of the brush to commutator connection by filling in the gap between a new brush and the commutator in DC brush type motors. It accelerates the brush breaking in to the com which increases the performance and HP of the electric motor because the brush rounds out properly and has an increased amount of surface area touching the commutator (ie the brush rounds out properly around the comutator as brushes were normally square ended or only slightly rounded from the factory). We use to use com drops to break in motors and also for a boost sometimes during racing. I personally only liked them to break in the motor properly and did not use them before a race. Funny with brushless motors now, you don't really need them much anymore.

do you think it would be a better idea to get the ofna truggy box or the ofna 12v box?

Not really sure. Ofna makes really good stuff and you will be happy with the twin 770 box as it works well. I am sure the other box is good too. I power my 10244 with a single 12v gel cell.

I'm using the chrome top ofna box with the 12v motor, it turns my new sirio over fine.
with a 12v lead cell

Can one of you guys that uses the ofna chrome top starter box post or pm pics of what the top plate looks like when set up for the 8ight-T. Had a miserable day today trying to get the pins right. Any pics of the chrome top set up would be a huge help. Thanks!

Also, has anybody used the nevermiss starter box plates on flea-bay? If so, were they any good and are they compatible with the chrome top box?

the 54 stands for the Piston....Not the oil or the % it needs to be filled.

I can't find that damn link!!! Anyway PM me if you get the box and can't figure it out from my description above. The rear guide simply needs to slide out further than the normal slot allows to fit the 8T chasis.

OK, it is kind of taboo to quote your own quote isn't it? I am the biggest idiot of all time. I have been trying like hell to find the link to this article and today I went looking in my favorites under my RC truggy folder and low and behold the link..... What a genius. I guess that is what happens when you try to get organized. Anyway, hope this helps everyone as this is a great article on how to modify the Ofna 10244 for the 8T. Don't know why google could not find it in a million searches?

Soccerlaw, not sure if this helps you at all with the chrome top Ofna, but maybe it needs the same mod? Not sure as I have this box.

I Finally got a new body for the 8, i think it looks awesome.. I was going to try and find a silver wing.. Let me know what you think, or should i just leave it white.. I also made the clips a lot easier to get off. Its awesome what you notice that people have at the track. The truck was a RTR, so far I have upgraded the shock caps and redid all the diff fluid. I unwillingly also upgraded the throttle servo, I am taking my time setting this one up. I think the next thing i am going to do is upgrade the steering servo, my local track is very tight and has a lot of grip, the extra torque would help a lot.
