Glow plug depends on your fuel,

I run cold plugs
Hop-Ups-

*Metal Shock-caps
*Metal Rear brace
*Throttle servo
*(Some people say upgrade the steering servo too, but i've had no problems with mine)
-There are others to buy but Id consider these some of the most important right off-IMO

Tips-
*CHECK AND DOUBLE CHECK YOUR LINKAGES ON THE THROTTLE SERVO, incorrect settings will destroy servos and your carb
*Washers on the rod ends- to stop them from popping off
*Put diff fluid in
*Setup your fail-safe(comes built in the receiver but must be activated)
*Make sure your battery fits snug in the battery case
*Check all your hex nuts before you run and blue locktite.

Hope this helps

*I'm running 20% fuel and have purchased O'Donnell Medium Monster Truck Glow Plug, are these acceptable?
*Which rear brace are you referring to, chassis brace or hinge pin brace?
*how do you activate the fail-safe. I read the spectrum manual but didn't see how to turn it on or off.

I think I'll wait for servos, but will probably go with the JR 9100's for T & S does anyone have an opinion on servos?

The JR 9100S works great for both throttle and steering. It's what I'm using. Make sure you have your screws holding down your servo horns on tight or you'll strip the adapters out. It happened to me on my steering servo horn so I went and bought an aluminum horn and I went over my entire 8ight and make sure all screws were tightened down properly.

Id personally pick the Ace DS1015 and DS1313 servo's over JR's.....significantly faster and imo just as powerful......"0.6 seconds".. ...ace is faster on HRS No doubt about it.

Do you have any idea what you're talking about? We don't need your type of feedback here misleading people, this is the problem with forums these days, anyone comes around and thinks they know everything.

Ace R/C DS1015 Super Torque Digital Servo
[ACE8127]
The specs on this servo are:

* Transit time: 0.108 sec/deg @ 6V
* Torque: 14.5 kg/cm (201.4 oz/in) @ 6V
* Weight: 66g (2.328 oz)
* Length: 41.8mm
* Width: 20.6mm
* Height: 39.6mm

Ace R/C DS1313 Super Torque Digital Servo
[ACE8128]
The specs on this servo are:

* Transit time: 0.13 sec/deg @ 6V
* Torque: 12.5 kg/cm (173.6 oz/in) @ 6V
* Weight: 66g (2.328 oz)
* Length: 41.8mm
* Width: 20.6mm
* Height: 39.6mm

Z9100S Digital Ultra-Speed MG Servo
Specs
Type: Digital Ultra-Speed Metal Gear Servo
Torque: 150 oz/in @ 4.8V, 180 oz/in @ 6V
Speed: .08 sec / 60 degrees @ 4.8V, .06 sec / 60 degrees @ 6V
Dimensions (WxLxH): 0.827"x1.59"x1.569"
Weight: 2.3 oz
Bearing: Dual Wide Spaced Bearing
Motor Type: Coreless
Gears: Metal
Application: Surface vehicles

Significantly faster you say? You might want to take a look at specs because it reads .06 and not .6 . Also your opinion doesn't mean anything when it comes to the ACTUAL power output. If I'm not mistaken facts override any form of opinion. So please don't post anything that's not factual. If you have the proper equipment and have done the proper testing to prove what you've said please show us how the ACE servos outperformed the JR9100S but it's not likely(although I could be wrong,which happens since I'm not perfect) that you have the knowledge and or test equipment for those sort of tests. Please show us a head to head experiment for speed and or "power" or torque produce by these servos in a real life situation and not just some numbers on the sheets.

ok so I went through 9 pages of bashing, flaming, testing, tracking, building, and advice. And I'm still not quite sold on the EighT race roller. I currently own a kyosho RR and a muggy, I'm looking to replace the muggy with either the EighT or a Mbx5T
anyone have both trugs that might be able to give an un-biased opinion on both?

Thanks

TB

When the cop pulls you over doing 160 mph, and asks if you knew how fast you were going say, "yep i had cruise control on".

If you have the RR you don't need anything else. That thing rips! The Mbx5t is no slouch either though If you must have a backup I'd get the 8ight T because parts are available everywhere and it's very easy to work on.

Oh and if some of you are looking for a great hex wrench set look into Team Losi Race drivers, they'll chew up a screw before they show wear Typing with gloves is difficult lol... it's about 10degrees in this warehouse.

I have a tricked out lst also. losi really never let me down. the muggy is the only truck out of the kyo, savy and lst that really never did it for me. buddy of mine is givin me 350 for the paclage so ill put that towards the eighT roller. I think ican get it for 580.

Thanks for all the help guys. I have another question, be kind as I am new to nitro RC.

I'm trying to break in the engine per the manual and it won't stay running long enough (30 sec max) It's going to take forever to burn 1 tank of gas let alone go thru 3 before tuning it. I'm tempted to adjust the low end screw in order to allow me to break in the motor. Any suggestions?

First off don't idle the first tank,

Engines come overly rich from the factory

Buy a temp gun if your new to nitro it will help curb the learning curve assosiated with tuning

As soon as I hit the throtle it dies. I don't slam on the gas I ease into it. I can't get it to stay running (even at idle), it is way to rich. Can I tune the low end now (prior to break in) to at least allow it to run?

Try tuning your HSN an hour at a time until it stays running. Are you sure your idle speed is set properly?
