i know this is a worl champ , but is it a realistic choise for the average racer, or is it just a bragging piece? is it worth the coin??

Yes, yes, No! Its a good buggy for any racer, It is a bragging piece, but its not worth the coin unless you got money to burn. There are other cheaper buggies that will hang with it all day long.

It is an excellent car, I have the SP2 and it is awsome, never breaks and is superb at handling, I have all of the WC components on the way. They say it is the world edition becuase it is a SP2 with all of the hop ups that were used to win the Worlds. It would be like the SP3. It is worth it for all of the extra stuff you get with it, the price difference is only like $20from the SP2 , but you get almost $200 in upgrades from the SP2. I have the SP2 and ST-R and they are both worth it, I have not had a problem with one ever, I love them.

On amainhobbies its only $10 more then the SP2, so if your gonna get the Sp2 its well worth it too spend the extra cash and spend the xtra $10, considering you get over $150 worth of hop-ups. If you arent dead-set on getting the Sp2, or the WC. I reccomend you get the Xray Xb8 TQ. Its $549 on amainhobbies ( i know the price says $599, but put it in your cart, and the price changes), and its definetly as good, if not better then the SP2.

You would think by know that they would fully eliminate the use of wood-screws and those damn e-clips. But, noooooOO-oooOO! C'mon Kyosho!

Am I the only one who doesn't mind e-clips and wood screws? Nevre had a problem with them.... ever.

I have never had a problem with them either. And yes the Kyosho is worth the money. Just search and you can find good deals.

the clips scare me,,, and as for wood screws, doesnt feel like a pro thing?? any one feeling me?

to be honest, i have never had a problem with e-clips, and i like the fact that i can change them quickly. no problems there. and people complain about wood screws. they hold just fine and, again, i have had no problems with them. they may not seem "professional for the cost", but they work. and, with an electric screwdriver, u can screw them in and out fast in the pits [;)]

Kyosho has a long list of things that people have wanted them to change: the E-clips, screws, cast knuckles, chassis braces, lack of tires in the kit, etc. that they simply haven't done much to improve. The sole exception are the new chassis braces, with are a step up from the older ones. For them to charge as much as the do, with even Mugen dropping their prices down to sub $600 prices for their new MBX5R, shows me they're arrogant and think people will just keep lining up to buy their stuff.

If you call Kyosho and ask them why they haven't changed them, I am am sure they will have good reasons. They are not stupid. Like I said before, the SP2 is bullet proof.

I like the screws on Kyosho MP 7.5 much better that my Losi 8! I have 1 tool to take the screws out not 3 to 6. I think more company should put philips screws on their cars.

Are you kidding??? More phillips screws? I HATED those things when building and working on my SP2. Hex heads are so much easier to work with. Say what you want about Kyosho and their need to update parts, but that is something almost uniformly agreed on - the screws need to go.

I have to say if you do anything like regular maintanence it will cost you a lot more in spare screws. I stripped my 7.5 down once before I sold it and needed to replace a number of screws. With my hyper I've lost count of how many times its been stripped, and I haven't replaced a single hex screw (though it may need some soon). The amount of times you need to dismantle these things makes quality fasteners an ESSENTIAL part of any kit, let alone a quality one.

Yah ive stripped out many phillips head screws, and never had any problems with the hex.

To be perfectly honest I actually think the phillips screws are easier to work with at the track when there's a lot of dirt on the screw heads. I've put hex screws on one car and it's OK everywhere except for the ones mounting parts on the chassie. Especially for the ones mounting bulkheads to the chassie. They get worn and filled with dirt and worn dirt filled hex heads are a major pain while the phillips always comes out easy. I'm using stainless steele hex everywhere else and they are way to soft (my fault).

With philips head screws you can use the same tool on every screw in the car! If you use the right philip head screw driver you'll never need to replace them. The hudy screw drivers fit almost any size and they fit no less then perfectly. Theres nothing wrong with e-clips but you can lose them pretty easy.

Plus the SP2 is the best strongest buggy out there so yes it is worth the money, The mugen is similar quality and similar price. Or you could go with hyper or hon kong rubbish.

It is just a SP2 with upgrades so is basically the same car.

Kyosho shocks = inferior to Hong Kong rubbish. Kyosho ST-R differentials = massively inferior to ANY other truggy diffs.

I've never had any problems with kyosho shocks, In fact I ran a sp1 hard for a year and replaced nothing, Can you say that about hon knog. No. As for the ST-R diffs, Get your facts right, It isn't the material of the difffs at fault. And please don't even compare the CRT to the ST-R or MBX5T they are leagues above. The only reason the CRT is populer is because it is cheap, And you can buy cheap parts. But you need to buy a lot of hop ups and parts to keep it running. In fact the CRT is copying kyosho on all there ideas, brakes, servo saver etc. But feel free to buy rubbish it will cost you more in the long run.
