Hello guys, I just finished putting together my x400, and I need a radio. I ordered a 6 channel eflite receiver, and I was wondering if this would work just as good as a hitech receiver, if I ordered a optic 6 transmitter. I tried using my blade cp controller, and it works, but not as it should. It doesnt control the throttle of the engine and the pitch of the blades as it should. If someone could let me know if I could use this optic 6 transmitter, that would be great.

Charles

I can't offer counsel on the comparable value or performance of another OEM's product. But suspect it will work fine.

Yes, the Optic will operate any PPM RX as long as the proper shift modulation is chosen, Futaba and Hitc use "negative shift" modulation.

Thank you for your reply, this rx is a negative shift rx.

Could you tell me what the modul is and if I need it or not. I see that its optional. http://www.servocity.com/html/optic_6_systems.html

Thank you,

Modules, refer to the Transmitters removable frequency module, they are either channel specific or Synthesized. YES, you must have one or the other. Aircraft typically use 72mHz. modules.

Thanks for your reply,
So can I jus use my current crystals? I ordered the transmitter yesterday, so I am expecting to receive it within the next couple of days.

Crystals, meaning Reciever crystals, if so yes providing they are intended to be used with the OEM specific RX in play...

Thanks for all of your help, I think that everything will be good to go with this new transmitter. I will let you know how it goes and if I have any questions.

Actually Michael, I had another question. Do you have a link to a picture of which servo goes to which channel? Also, how do you set up mixing for this controller? I think I need 90 degree mixing, but im not sure. Im new to ALL of this stuff.
Thanks
Charles

Hello, I received my optic transmitter today, but I didnt realize that this transmitter doesnt take regular crystals, and that the module themselves were infact that. I will end up ordering a module tomorrow, b/c there is no one in the local area that carry them.

Michael, is it virtually impossible to pick up one of these transmitter modules in a hobby shop?
Thanks
Charles

Charles, try Servo City. They'll almost certainly have what you need for $25 and will ship it to you PDQ.

Thanks for your post. I ended up ordering from them, I was just hoping that I could find something that was local, so that I could fool around with this x400.
