Hi all folks, i has the new Цсткам 2.5 KP ABC with tuned pipe, run only at FAI fuel + propeller at 7x3 about 22000 rpm. Which U/C airplane can you recomment i can use to my Цсткам 2.5 KP ABC engine?

I have the earlier version of this motor for 3 years with no airplane !!

I decided to make an "assymetric" ( one inboard wing only ) speed model.
It looks good, and I think it will fly fast ( but not break any records !! ).
Trouble is getting it off the ground !!
I am spending more effort trying to design the "take off dolly" ( undercarriage that falls off after take off ) than I did for the plane !!

I should have stayed with a more conventional design with a fixed undercarriage !!

Perhaps a home designed "rat racer" ( with upright engine to allow for the pipe ) - nice and simple but good fun

Personally I'd forget about the pipe and put the engine in a combat plane then just go out and have fun with it

Arn't these timed to only work properly with the pipe fitted ?

I did think of doing as you suggest, but I was advised as above, though this info could be wrong
I never tried running mine without it's pipe - I feel a test coming on this weekend !!.

Also the rear facing exhaust stub makes mounting in a combat wing a bit impractical, (though I suppose it could be machined away !!)

The engine are tuned to run fast without nitro, i can see the transfer and intakevalve are open in same time, also the engine has overlap to improve insuction of mixture from carburator to cylinder.

The speed model, are the plane easy to fly fast or more "adrenalin" to fly fast?

There is an easily built training speed model which you could build, in issue no. 85 of the "Lassogeier" magazine:
Go to : http://www.lassogeier.de/
Click on "Archiv",
then "Lassogeier 85" and download the magazine.
Unzip and look for page 14, article "Speed Alternative"
The model is called "Rodeo 2000", and is said to be very easy to fly.

I'm sure you could make the wing and tail of hard balsa, but I would keep the pinewood for the fuselage.

JMP Blackfoot, thanks for that link. Most interesting. One of the problems with doing a google search for control line articles is knowing what other countries call control line. So fesselflug is a new one to me !

Luke.

Yes, "Fesselflug" in German, and "Vol circulaire" in French...
