I#m not quite sure if i'm getting section 4 step 5 right (sorry not native speaking). Could I also use adhesive tape to seal the hinge line??

I've used adhesive tape before, but had trouble with it cracking after time. I usually just apply a thin strip of ultracote, if I remember right, on my little Yak it was about 1/2" or 5/8" wide, and the length of the hinged surface. Once cut into a strip, fold it down the center tightly, forming a v-channel out of the strip of ultracote, this way it sits into the bevel of the hinged surface better for you to apply heat with your iron and you are all set. I never have troubles with this method. Good luck and enjoy the plane, it's a winner

i use ultracoat and seal both sides of the hinge line and it looks good and last a long time(longer than most of my planes). i feel this makes the hinge stronger and control serface more effective.

silversurfer69,

Just seal the bottom of the control surface. This is just to stop the air from passing through the control surface and gives a more precise movememt of the control surface. You can use what was mentioned about or clear Monokote. If you ever fly pattern you'll see why the control surfaces need to be sealed. No need to seal both sides.
