Ya I agree there is alot of sanding and trimming to get everything to fit nice and tight. The good thing is that it is quite easy to build a super nice airframe, just take your time and stay on trak and the plane will reward you for it the moment you open up the throttle for the fist time.
I've seen a Dynaflite SE5a at a fly in last year, and they look great in the air as it goes floating by, but I'm like you, any bipe is a good bipe to me!

I am in the process of two planes this winter also, the S-1s Pitts I am scratch building and the Goldberg Sukhoi SU-26MX that santa left me under the tree. I have some pics of the sukhoi on my build thead.

Keep the pictures commin!

You bet.
I do like all sizes in this particular plane; I’d like to know how big the difference in flying both planes is.
Back to my build. Last night I had some time to sand and fit some parts together, I found that the alignment tabs on the fuse need a good amount of time to fit nice and flat.

After trimming and sanding now the fuse is ready for glue, I did not take any rest until the perfect alignment has achieved.

Firewall is now attached and ready. Now it is time to glue the front lower side of the fuse, the landing gear wood block and the lower wing atachment blocks.

I believe that this kit is becoming every time to a great challenge, sanding and trimming is OK to me, but parts that came in a different size (smaller) and that have a particular shape will be a challenge to make, I am talking about the lower wing supports, those wood block that attach the lower wing with the fuse, here a couple of pictures of what I am talking about, have anyone had this problem before or I had the worst look in the world, Kite came with missing parts and now this.
Well before the next step I will contact Carl Goldberg to see what they can do.

Just e-mailed but have had not response, if they are not willing to respond I will have to visit the LHS and buy a piece of wood that I can give the needed shape but my claim will stand.
I have glued the top formers and this thing is getting a plane look. I believe that solving the Lower Wing supports everything will be just like skating on a nice down hill.

Bipeguy: One of my future projects is the Goldberg sukhoi but I have had many troubles building my Ultimate kit because of a poor quality kit so I'd like to know your opinion on materials and parts of your Sukhoi. In my kit several balsa sticks came in different size, all wing leading and trailing edges came bowed and of course, the lower wing support blocks that came in a complete different size, well I’d like to know your opinion about it.

I can give you my opinion but it might not be the best. I did'nt run accross any problems in my Ultimate build nor the Suhkoi that I have'nt run into with any other kit. warped spars, bowed Leading edges, and poorly sized sticks, to me it is just kit building. But I have really bad luck any ways so I might just be tolerant to it. All I can say for the Ulitmate is that any headach you may have had durring the build will be made up for the moment the wheels leave the ground.

With the suhkoi I havent really noticed any major quality problems other than the Cowl, But about all ABS cowls in kits are junk. The wing is very straight forward and is pretty simple to build. and yes the spars were warped but with carefull planning ang placment I built a near perfect wing. the only flaw was my fualt for not making sure the rib was in the correct spot. As for the fuse it is almost Identical to the Ulimate just Bigger, there is still alot of sanding and trimming to ensure a nice straight fuse, but I still had mine framed in one night.
As I said my opinon might not help becuase of my veiws. But to me the problems you have are the same that I encounterd And I just did'nt feel it brought the kit qaulity down

Yes it helps a lot, thank you Bipe Guy. There are still chances to me to buy the Sukhoi Kit in a near future.
I went to the LHS last saturday and got a nice hard wood block, yesterday was a combined day Flying, Family and Building day, Had to cut straight and sand a lot to obtain a nice couple of wing block supports, my building is close to the end now I have think about the covering.

The lower wing support blocks are finished and glued in place; I also glued the landing gear support block and the lower front fuse ply part.
