Thanks for reviving this thread you guys It's always fun to see one come alive again. I actually got my Harry Potter (see post 1) out the other day and finally decided he needed to go flying again in my Twist 60

Keep them coming, they all look great

I finally got my Andrews Aeromaster Bipe completed. Cedric has about 25 flights in already. He seems to be happy about his new bipe.

Thanks imsofaman, I'm also very happy with the new bipe. Cedric was exactly right for the plane.

Having just read this thread last night, I'd thought that I would show my newest pilot.
My daughter had an old Barbie head laying around, I had a bit of foam for a body........

The trainer, "Captain Eddie" is very pleased with his new pupil!

I found a small pink and purple change purse that I cut to make her flying helmet and jacket.
I made her goggles out of some egg-carton styrofoam with clear plastic for lenses, rubber band for strap. Her headphones were carved from balsa with different size rubber band strap, her microphone was made from a "t-pin" while I twisted some wire around a metal rod to form her cable that connects her headphones to the instrument panel. Also had to add a white scarf......

Ok guys,
Here is my latest sculpture with custom vaccum mold of Austin Poweres. This is actually my second attempt at doing vaccum molds and I am in love with the process. So...I sculpted Austins head out of sclupy clay. Heated in the oven as per the directions and hardened it. I cut it in half as I needed two halves to glue together. These are the "plugs" to be vaccum formed. Many coats of laquer to make is smooth so the plastic does not stick. I also use a PTFE mold release that works awesome.
The body is sculpted out of Crayola Clay and is very lite when it dries...like foam. Then I started the forming process and here are the finished photos..........

Dave

PS....the florecent light does not compliment the true purple color I had chosen....

This is in my Whirlybird Aviation's DAG-60. The Duke, John Wayne.

The attachments are from Whirlybird Aviation's Pitcairn PCA-2 autogyro. I used a GI Joe head and sculpted the goggles, cap and body.
