The question is will the Power Expander Pro work with Airtronics FM/PCM 8 channel receivers? It says universal Futaba/JR. Am I stuck with only the sport? I've got a couple 30% planes that I'd like to add the Smart-Fly Power Expander to the mix and have a 37% Ultimate and 37.5% Yak that will be put together in the future and would rather pick up the Pro for the re-usablity for the larger planes down the road.

Thanks,
Mike K.

Hi Mike,
The Pro and the Sport will work with basically any receiver. The only ones that might have a problem that I know of are because of physical limitations like the strange Mutiplex receiver that has servos outputs on both sides of it. The square Hitec may also have problems. As far as I know the Airtronics should be fine.

On the Power Expander Sport, if you only needed power distribution for 6 channels, could you use a 9 channel receiver such as the JR 649 and run something like the Smart Fly Ignition Kill from the receiver?

Hi Ben,
Yes, you can do that. Anything you run off the receiver should have a low current requirement and the Cutoff has a very low requirement.

Mike,
While my response is unappropriate in a MFG forum, I would like to add that you should definately get the PRO. I have one and I use two batteries and a slider switch connect to the switch port on the pro to turn the packs on and off. It is GREAT.
