Hi;Well when you find someone wants your seeker I have a couple trackers would sure like to get rid of to but guess wouldn't do that to anyone!!After this mess afraid to try something else new as will shortly order the new Futuaba SS hope will have better luck than with Polk but as you say maybe they are big enough to afford to backup there products.I only have a couple seekers but don't think it is worth sending them back and then wondering if they will work? Not sure what to do with the trackers though presently my old 11 seems to beOK just avoid good planes my 111 is totally inop!!We live and learn!!!!

Moodier,
I'm a little confused by your comments. You seem to repeatedly mix in having problems with glitching surfaces due to the receivers and/or the Tracker 3 itself. There have been repeated reports of short range problems with both the Seeker 6's and Seeker II and at one point about 2 years ago Polk's admitted to having a problem with a batch of Seeker 6's and were fixing them as they were sent back in for service. I stopped using my Seeker II recievers a while ago to be on the safe side due to some interrmittent glitching and the fact that I fly large scale planes and didn't want to take a chance but as far as the Tracker III itself it is a great transmitter. You mention another flyer at your field who has stopped using his Tracker III because of problems, how do you know it isn't just the receiver?? If you guys are all just jumping to conclusions that the Tracker III transmitters are all junk because you may have a bad batch of recievers please box up all of the Tracker III's that you can find and send them to me. I'll gladly pay for the shipping and my son and I will be most greatful to have a few more Tracker's to use in our fleet. By the way, why is your Tracker III inoperable?? I had one of the first batch of 200 that had been originally shipped and besides having the software upgraded to 1.37.5 and the warranty work done on the gimbel stick wiring which was a problem on the first run of radios the Tracker III has been amazing. For the price it offers a ton of features. There are 5 flyers in my club with them and all are quite satisfied with thier performance.

Hi:I was an early promoterof the Trackers! As I said I am using my old 11 which has been updated and seems OK.The 111 has always had an intermittent on-off switch getting sick of wiggling it to get power. The switch D I believer that ise for hi-lo rate on aileron has some strange quirk that depending on percent of movement it may go either way don't like it when it reverses the movement of the aileron I like them to always go the same way!I lost 3 planes thru what Iwould call uncontroled movement plane flying smooth and level makes violent uncontroled movement with no response to transmitter.I know shouldn't do it but put all 3 receivers in other planes and flown long time with no problems one was a seeker,2 were HITec!Using my Tracker11.Ihave had it quit transmitting while on bench testing plane out it suddenly says busy and stops transmitting would have been acrash if had gottentin the air too.I really lked them but am tired of loosing planes under questionable situations!

The problem I mentioned is related ONLY to the Seeker II (8channel) receiver in relation to lower end Futaba transmitters and possibly hitec transmitters. In NO way is the posting related to the Tracker III transmitter. The problem is with the receiver and the glitching is more like twitching. The receiver seems to actually be resetting at a fast rate (50 times per second or so.) The servos go limp, but on one or two channels, the servo arm actually moves to one extreme or the other. In a few days, I'm going to post a detailed instruction set on how to reproduce the problem. I will most likely also post a video showing the problem with different transmitters. Regretfully, I already sent all the faulty receivers in for repair and they should actually be on their way back. I do know someone that has a PH receiver that has not been in for the fix. I will get it from him and perform the tests on it.

Thanks

No I'm not 100% sure that the problem is only with negative shift, but for the brief moment I had a JR radio at my disposal, I was unable to reproduce the problem.

Moodier,

I just don't understand why you haven't sent back the Tracker III transmitter then if you are having all of those problems with it. Your on/off switch works intermittingly??? The first time that happened to me I would have packed it up in the box and sent it right back. I have seen the power switch go bad on at least 2 transmitters (other brands) over the last several years so it isn't unheard of. John and Scott at Polks certainly stand by their products and they would want to rectify that kind of a serious safety issue. I don't know how old your Tracker III is but it should still be under warranty and they would repair it in short order. Let us know how you make out with it.

I will say this I will never ever use another POLK in my eyes again. I lost an airplane with one. But that is not the bad part. I can accept a loss of an aircraft but not the safty of others. An out of control aircraft can not only damage property but also kill people. It is not worth the risk to myself or others.

Bad Product and BAD Service.

In the late eighties early nineties Polkk released the original 8 channel synth system. The transmitter was full of problems and the beta testers lost many planes. The transmitters were pulled from the market but the receivers at the time were great and I still own two from that era.

I purchased the new Tracker II when they came out. The transmitter didn't do half of what was advertised and had several glitches, it wouldn't even turn on sometimes and forget about mixing like a quality 8 channel radio made within the last 10 years. Then the T III came out and was supposed to address all the short comings. It too looks to be a dog and Polk Hobby is bunch of liars Who did they hire to beta test this crap? Me? You?

I wonder what the total cost of planes Polks equipment has cost hobbists over the past ten years? I know the next time I see them trying to peddle the crap they sell I'll ask then to prove the claims they are stating to potential customers so at least they won't get screwed. And if they say they don't have everything they need to show the programming in operation I'll be there with my complete system
