I would like to know what is the correct gas and oil mixture for Zenoah G-38 engine, like how many ounces of oil to the gallon of gasoline. I feel mathematically confused with the ratio explanation on the engine manufacturer's instructions and want to know a simpler way of mixing. Thanks

You can go to the local motorcycle or Go cart shop and get a plastic beaker that is all measured/marked out in oz to gal so you can very easily find the exact ratio you want.. Cheap too..
40 to 1 Pennzoil outdoor/aircooled 2 cycle oil is a popular product and mixture. That is what I use in my Zenoah G38s..Brian Smith

128 ounces in a gallon of gas.

4oz of oil

128/4 = 32

Thats a ratio of 32:1 meaning 32oz of gas per every 1oz of oil

128 ounces of gas and 3.2 ounces of oil yeilds 40:1 ratio

128 ounces of gas and 2.6ounces of oil yeilds 50:1 ratio

Technically, it's not exactly perfect, because TECHNICALLY you should be dealing with only 128ounces of fuel when your done mixing.

So, if you want to get TECHNICAL, you'd dump out 4oz of gas and then add your 4oz of oil back in for an exact 128 ounces of mixed fuel at 32:1 ratio.

I don't know ANYONE who is that anal though. Not with gasoline. Maybe a guy homebrewing glow fuel--but I have yet to meet a guy who will actually dump out 3 or 4 ounces of gas and then add his oil.

I run 40:1 in my engines.

approximately 30.076854732 to 1 -- is a good mix
unless it's gin -then about 100-1

Hey Boys!!! Is there a correct technique to mix oil/gas??? The RATIO part got it nailed. I will be mixing 5 gallons gas on a 32:1 with Lawnboy ashless to break a DA-50R. Do I simply fill the 5 gallon gas container and then add the oil completey plus a nice shaking, or go bit by bit so the recipe will be done.

I put in about 1/2 gallon then pour in the oil and then add the remaining 4.5 gallons.
If you leave a little in the jug it also helps.
Then you don't have to put in the 1/2 gallon just put in the entire 5 gallons.

I fill a 2 gallon jug at the gas station.

Dump my oil (3.2oz per gallon) into the jug and then put the pump nozzle in there and squirt the gas in at high speed by squeezing the pump handle all the way. By the time I get about 1.5 gallons in there, the 2 gallon jug is getting full, so I slow down and put that last 1/2 gallon in slow to prevent spilling and overfilling.

Thats how I mix my gas and oil. The sloshing of that gas going into the jug at full speed from the pump nozzle is going to mix my oil for me. I usually turn it upside down when I'm done and give it a couple shakes just to be sure.

Then I pour 1 gallon at a time into my field jug. Easier to transport and lighter. Leave the 2 gallon jug at home and pump fuel out of my little 1 gallon jug at the field with my hand crank. Seams like a gallon lasts me about 9 or 10 flights--about 3 trips to the field.
