Hi Lior,

Diden't you need to shorten your strutdoors?
Aren't the doors interfering with the runway, whenn the Hawk stands on its feet?

Regards, Henk

I had cut the small triangle in the back of the door - of course.
the stock springs are too soft int he struts so what i did in order to have more height is pull them out, take an allen M4 bolt, and thread one locking nut on it all the way, and use this as a spacer (the length of the bolt head + nut was perfect) in the strut top before the main spring.

Hi Lior:

Great job on the landing gear doors and vidoe presentation. Your work is now forcing me to consider adding the doors to my JLT45. It flies great now and I am not sure I want to mess with it.

One note on yours, the way you had the nose gear doors the first time is the scale position. The rear nosegear door is always down when the gear are down. I am sure your sequencer will let you do that.

Great job and hope it flies well. It is a good solid airplane.

Paul,

The nose gear sequence has not changed - it is still working the same (scale) way in my latest video.
Besides, it is mechanically impossible to close this set once the nose gear is down.

Lior:

I stand corrected, I thought I saw the the nose gear rear doors close in one of the videos. Great job, very scale in sequence.

i made them all on my own. the main gear door holder was done on a lathe and the nose gear door holder is a piece of bent wire in 2 small brass tubes.

Hi Rich

We are donating a T-45 ARF PRO to California Jet. If you are coming over to California Jet, just bring your Rabbit over.

Congratulation on Eric's new T-45. I am testing a next generation T-45 after California Jet with a P80. I will try to get a Rabbit and compare them side by side.

Mike

Hey Guys,if you want to really have a power house in a T-45 I am running a ram 750 that has been reworked by Carlos at RTI that is putting out 26.8# thrust.I used it because that was all I had to use at the time!!! Can we say throttle mangement.I fly off grass and take off roll is about 250ft.Unlimted vertical and cruise at half stick.Just thought everyone might get a kick out of that. Thanks Randy

Hi All,

Finally, we have the prototype of the 1/6 T-45 scale cockpit. The production one will be done in a month. Please email to info@globaljetclub.com if you are interested, or had placed an order on that before. The price for customers who had bought a T-45 (either the ARF PRO or JL) from us is $195.00 plus shipping, or whatever price that we have shown on your invoice. The price for buying it as a non combo sales is $265.00 each.

Here are the photos. Thanks,

Mike

Hi David,

The G2 would have 2 piece wings, better machined parts, more scale details.

Mike

My vote would be keep it the same size as it is now for the smaller Turbines (16 - 22 Lb class), Fei Bao and Skymaster make a larger one for the 28 - 36 Lb class turbines.

I have mine ready to maiden after a long and tumultuous ordeal. I have two questions. First, like Randy, I wanna know the absolute best CG for this plane. The consensus is somewhere between 120 and 145 from the front of the wing. At 120 I am gonna have to add a bunch of lead to the nose. Right now it sits at about 145, but I might feel more comfortable with a CG of 135 or 140. What do you think?
Second, what is the best way to measure the CG, there is no easy way to get this thing on a stand, and holding it up with two fingers is pretty much "ain't gonna happen".
Thoughts?
BTW< I am using a Wren SS, 18 pounds, which should be plenty of power on this bird from all I have read.
Thanks
Tommy

A flat piece of metal (fits between the fuz and wing) with bent up tips on each side works well, the bent tips are made to clear the fuz sizes, then holes are drilled in each of the tips to attache your cord to hang the model ....

Tommy:

What we did was this. Start with cg at factory recommended setting. Flight one - too nose heavy. I added 3oz of stick on weight to the end of fuse. Flight two -better but too nose heavy. Added two more oz of stick on weight to the aft end of fuse. Flight three - improved. Added two more oz to the tail end. Flight 4 just about perfect. Added two more oz and flew again. Now perfect. Inverted flight now requires very little forward stick. Full flap landings were a breeze. Back home on the bench, put the jet on the balancer with gear up, UAT full and about 3/4 inch of fuel in main tank. Verified the cg to be 145 back. Removed all the stick on weight and pulled both batteries from the nose. Moved both batteries back until balance was again achieved.
This is the cg I gave to Randy. . .you see his report in a previous post.

I am using the balancer sold by Frank Tiano Enterprises. It is loaned out, and the name escapes me.

Regards,
Eric

Thanks Eric. I wanna get it in the air as soon as I get back from TG. I will check on the CG balancer from Frank while I am there as well, would not hurt to have it.
Rich, I will also try your recs and see where I can get. I know I am pretty close, but I don't wanna chance it after all the problems I had with getting this in the air. None of them were the JL/GJC fault, just little things that cropped up abd a busy schedule.
