Hi Peter,
I am not sure if I have sent you some pictures. Can't remember that. If I did, please accept my apology. I seem to forget a lot of things recently while traveling in Chin. Must be the milk! Please PM your email address, or see if you can find more information on the air brakes on our website, www.globaljetclub.com or www.globalforcerc.com

Henk,
You will definitely feel the slop if you try to fly it as is as it manifests itself with a slow up/down oscillation that you can see during straight and level flight.
Mike,
Do you have any extra frequent flier miles that you want to donate
Drink the beer and forget the milk

To Eric Banner.
Hi Eric . Just received my T-45 from Jeff. I notice from your review and others that the Futaba S 3150 is ideal for the ailerons but am surprised to find it is not recommended for 5-cell operation. Any thoughts.

The wing on mine is done and I just got the nose gear/doors done. On to mounting the engine and fuel system...

Hey Bob,
Don't get me started on those darn main gear doors, I'm happy just to have all the gear go up! These gear doors were much more troublesome than my Rafale. So, I just decided to have doors on the front nose and none on the mains and it's working for me right now. Very big difference in performance with the gear up with the P-80. I do more throttle management with the gear up, but I hit a point in the speed that the elevator starts to oscillate. Hoping to get the mod from Rich when he gets back into town.
BTW, did you get the nice marketing literature from Mike at GJC? Pretty sweet little touch to his growing business...

Hi Ken,
I will have a few of these push rods per Rich's design next week. Will send you a couple of these parts. I am putting them on my T45 w/ P80, so there are less throttle management to deal with, hopefully.
I found a way to get these damn gears to work with little pressure by adding a servo booster to pull in the gear. Will have my builders try it out on mine. If it works, then we can just add these mods. I really like this plane, and hopefully we can work out all these bugs once for all.

I flew my T-45 (Red Bull version), P-80 equipped, yesterday three times. Flew the pattern for landing with full flaps and did not have any issues with the elevator blanking out. Elevation at the field is about 400ft ASL. I do have the throw set pretty high. With the same setting, I flew four times at a field at 2900ft ASL and the elevator did "run out" on landing. The jet doesn't seem to be unstable or snappy since I've been flying it at 142mm CG point. Just feels heavy and draggy as compared to some other jets I've flown.
You can't compare this jet with the Bobcat. The bobcat I'm sure has much better performance on the same turbine and the slow speed characteristics is going to be better due to the wing configuration. It's a sport jet and designed to have a wide performance envelop. The Hawk, although scale has some limitations not to mention the airframe is pretty heavy to begin with. JMO

I'm close to finish my T45 from GJC. I have a question regarding your CG at 142mm on your Redbull T45. Is your CG calculated from the LE of center of the wing. ?
Thanks in advance.

Carlos,
My CG was calculated from the part line where the wing meets the fuse. Flip the fuse upside down and put the wing on. The part line is clearly visible, measure from the center of the wing at the part line back ~142mm. The mark will be just inside the rectangular detail line on the bottom of the wing.

Hi Rich, not yet. I've stripped two hex wrenches trying to get my stab mechanism out of the fuse. I should have it out, modified parts put in and re- installed by the end of Thanksgiving break. I'm also going to replace the stock screws with new ones as the stock screw heads are not cut deep enough to allow the hex wrench a good bite when trying to un- screw them.

Rich,
I knew somebody was going to ask that!
I put the bend in the links so that the clevis would line up square with the servo arms. If I didn't do that, the clevis wouldn't "seat" properly so that the pin engaged the hole on the side of the clevis opposite the pin. There is a bend like that (for a different reason) in the elevator pushrods on the BVM Kingcat and that plane is faster, the elevators are bigger, and the linkages are longer, so I'm not really worried about any decrease in strength of the linkages because of the bend.
Edgar,
I used 8411 servos on the speed brakes. I reversed one of them and adjusted the linkages carefully so that they open and close evenly without using a Matchbox...
