Well done! I knew the plane was a winner all along!
You know, that first flight shot, with the tailhook and the gear up and all, the plane looks hot, really nice, much better looking than a regular Hawk.
Thinking about doing gear doors?

Hi All,

Eric, do you think An Artes Falcon is too much (22lbs) for this bird?

I just received a new T45 with the new wing, but I have been traveling and no time to build it during this winter. Anyone in the USA would like to buy it from me? I will sell it at the factory price but no shipping within USA. I am going to focus on flying JLF15 when I get back to the States.

Give me a PM if you are interested in this proposal.

Mike

Hi Mike,

It's very difficult comparing like-for-like and I'm bound to get into trouble for this, but:-

Thrust Weight All in lbs
Jet Central Super Bee 14 1.9 http://www.jetcentral.com.mx/docs/bee.pdf
Wren Super Sport 18 2.2 http://www.wrenturbines.co.uk/product.php?pid=4
MW54 Mk3 14.5 2.2 http://www.wrenturbines.co.uk/product.php?pid=2
Jetcat P70 17.5 2.6 http://alshobbies.bpweb.net/jetcat.html
Jetcat P80 20 2.9 http://alshobbies.bpweb.net/jetcat.html
Jet Central Falcon 22 3.3 http://www.jetcentral.com.mx/docs/falcon.pdf

The difference between top and bottom of this list is 8lb thrust for an increase in weight of 1.4lbs.

You've got to go your own way...

Eric

Hi Curtis,

Yes and air brakes but not just yet. Want to get a few hours flying in!

The gear doors are nicely done. It's not that I mind the holes in the bottom of the fuse, it's that the gear legs look so naked and stalky without them when they are out. I may just put the doors on the legs for now, I know, like you, I don't want to deal with the complete door system until mine is flown a bit. The airbrakes, I don't think I will bother. But I may do a simple microservo on the tailhook slaved to the flaps. For the moment, mine is glued into place.
Where did you put your second air bottle? I found out last night they won't both go under the radio tray without one tank protruding into the fuel tank, so I put the second tank above the intakes.

ET. Use two tanks the same height as the shortest one & fit them upright behind the air intake.

Regards

Jim

One will indeed fit under the radio tray, on the right side. But your internal former layout may be different than mine, the plane was revised a bit recently....

That was the other solution that occoured to me. One should be plenty for a few gear cycles and still have enough for brakes. The other solution would be a shorter tank for brakes that will still fit under the radio tray.

From 7bar I get 4 gear cycles then Tam puts my wheels down.

Well...you only need ONE full cycle, plus something left over for taxying out and braking after landing and taxying back, and, yeah, one tank feels like enough.
We don't use bars here, only PSI, which are much more powerful!

If you PM me your adress, I can send you some good old American PSI to fill your air tanks with, and a package of my patented new lightening holes.
