So I was at a swap shop and bought 3 gallons of Ritchs Brew 15% Pylon fuel. The individual stated it would be fine for my NIB Saito 100 and my other 4-strokes. I haven't used the fuel in those engines but have run about 1/2 gallon in my two strokes, with no apparent issues.

I did go to Ritchs website to see what 'pylon' fuel meant....looks like a little less oil 18% vs. 20-22% and/or pure synthetic vs. synthetic/castor blend.

http://www.ritchsbrew.com/pricing.html

Does anyone have experience with this fuel, and more importantly, should I be worried about the 'pylon' designation. And before you ask, 'why 15%'....he had it, and my engine manuals stated anywhere from 5% - 15% w/18% oil would be fine.

Sooooo.....Should I sell it or add some Cool Power 5% (50/50) to 'better blend' the fuel.

Thanks!
Wiqar

It meets Saito’s oil and nitro recommendations so there’s no reason to mix it with anything.

I have used Ritchs Brew and it runs the same as any other brand.

Carrellh is right. Ritch's Brew is just as good as all the others. I have used it regularly along with Omega and Power Master. All seem about the same to me. Pay attention to the amount of Nitro, not so much the brand. I mean alcohol is alcohol, it is about the same for all manufacturers. I happen to perfer fuels with some Castor but others do not.

Cheers,

Chip

Kevlar,
We have Ritch's Brew right here in our back yard. (So to speak...) Made right down in Houston!

I have several Saitos including a couple of 100's and am using the green 15% nitro, 18% oil formula. This stuff makes Saito's run like a sewing machine and have great idle characteristics. The pylon formula you have will do pretty much the same and will run your 100 just fine without any additional blending.

I think the "pylon" designation came about when we had the 4 Star Forty and Quickee craze going on. Everyone was thinking go fast, turn left and what percentage fuel you were using. Ritch's Brew was the donated fuel for these events and was always great to use. Enjoy!
