I just maidened my Spitfire. It practically flew out of my dads hand. No drop of the nose. Just straight out then then I climbed out. Beutifull in the air. It slowed down after a couple of minutes but this should get better as the batterie cycles. Sounds great to. I hope to go again today

Hey, where do you fly? I fly at Green Hill with Mike and some of the other guys so why not join us some time. I love my PZ Spitfire. It is the best flying warbird I have ever flown and I have flown many over the years.

Hey Marines,

How bad is the wind where u fly? I flew the PZ Spitfire yesterday in winds gusting to 15-20 mph and the Spifire handled them beautifully. I also have a PZ FW-190 (slightly heavier, approx 3 oz.) and both planes handled the winds very well. The Spit did seem to be pushed around a bit more but nowhere near what would have happened with a HZ SuperCub.

Anyway, I have found that for the most part these birds will fly well in low-to-medium wind conditions as long as you stay ahead of the flight.

Cheers,
Joel

He's the same area as Larry and I.

This is from weather.com:

A HIGH WIND WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 12 PM EDT TUESDAY.

SUSTAINED WINDS OF 20 TO 35 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 60 MPH WILL OCCUR THROUGH THE MORNING HOURS.

This wind has been going on for two days now!

Take care,
Mike

Hey All,

Just got back from a lunchtime flight here in the high desert. Winds per weather.com 12 mph ene with gusts to 25+mph. Against my own better judgment I threw the Spitfire into the air and after a few scary downdrafts she climbed out beautifully. Did get pushed around a bit but overall wind penetration very good. The wind was not very steady, it swirled around quite a bit for the first half of the flight. You do have to keep an eye on this bird when flying downwind as she picks up speed quickly with a tailwind. Flying back into the pattern not too tough but definitely much easier at WOT. Only 7 flights and the Spit is doing well! Fast becoming my favorite take-anywhere bird!

Cheers,
Joel

Hey all,
Was wondering how you all have the CG set on your Spits? I read in another forum that she flies better more nose heavy! I've yet to maiden mine and have it set at the recommended spot.

Hey Airwing- I'm a former marine, was stationed at Cherry Pt. with H&Ms-32. Avionics Tech suporting the AV-8B squadrons. Quite some time ago though!

I learned and observed that there are no 'former Marines' except for the ones with a BCD which I assune would be rare.
Just an obervation from an old Blue Jacket.

HOOK UP!...WHEELS UP AND LOCKED! 2007 FLYING SEASON THIS WEEKEND and I have alot of neat aircraft to tease the Gravity Gods with.
I've got a PKZ P51 and a PKZ FW190 I hope to maiden and soon I will add the Spittie before July and then I hope to have the skill to fly my 1/12th F8F RARE BEAR pylon racer by August.

Hey Skyword, Semper Fi! Bud... I was there in 1982, only was OJT with VMAQ2 just for alittle while, then they sent me to N.A.S. Alemeda Ca. to VMA-133 A-4Fs as a I-level Mech/Plane captain...I was 6022/12...Did that for 4 yrs till I got out, came home...missed it, went back in.But went reserves this time and changed to Combat Engineer...Loved it...anyways I love my little Scooter..Back then, you take the avionics away from those F-14s, and 18s, we could fly circles around em..lol...Fun days....Good to see another Jarhead, Keep em Flying...........Steve.
