SO IN OTHER WORDS HIMOTO AND REDCAT ARE MADE BY TH SAME COMPANY BUT WITH DIFERENT PARTS OR LETS
SAY SPECIFICATIONS. I WAS LOOKING AT THE HIMOTO RAING PAGE AND THE THING THAT I NOTICE IS THAT ALL 1/10
ARE 14" MOST OF ALL WHILE OTHER BRANDS THEY ARE 16 OR LITTLE MORE CAN YOU TELL ME WHY IS THAT. IM PLANNING TO BUY ONE AND ALWAYS LIKE TO DO MY HOMEWORK BEFORE BUYING. WITH WHAT OTHER BRAND CAN YOU COMPARE QUALITY WISE.
THANK YOU FOR ALL INFO YOU CAN PROVIDE.

Himoto, Redcat, Exceed RC and 1 or 2 others are made by the same company. They each may have a model specific to their own brand but for the most part they are identical. If you look up the part numbers you will see they are the same for most of the cars/trucks.
1/10th just indicates the scale, the actual dimensions might vary a little by model and vendor, but they will all be about the same size.
Quality wise you wont be disappointed. I have 2 Himotos and the quality is comparable with my HPI trucks. If you are just getting into nitro I think you will be pleased with the himoto/redcat trucks.
If you have more questions dont hesitate to ask.

Hey guys I toasted my steering servo in my tsunami (mamba). Any suggestions on a decent replacement? I know its a small truggy with small tires so I shouldn't need anything too huge. I tried to figure out what the stock spec are (torque and speed) but cant find anything about it to compare to a new one or where to pick up a new one. Thanks.

The MTR-3 has a center differential where the MTR-2S has a 2 speed transmission. The center diff will make the truck turn better by allowing the front wheels and the rear wheels to turn at different speeds. Unless you plan on really racing you probably wont notice a difference between the two as far as the diff goes. The MTR-3 also has a slipper clutch which takes some strain off the transmission if you do a lot of jumping. With the 2 speed transmission there is no slipper clutch so its easier to strip the spur gears if you land hard while still on the throttle.
Hope this helps.
Also, make sure you do an ebay search before you buy either truck. You can find them on ebay from a lot of different stores for decent prices.

decompetencia are the kyoshos you are running against 1/8th or 1/10th?
You can change you engine or your gearing depending on what the problem is you are having. Im using an LRP Z.18 in my mamba and it runs very well. A lot of guys are using O.S. engines with a lot of success too.
You can also look in the redcat racing forum. There is more activity there and the trucks are identical. eminentguitar has made a lot of modifications to his truck and is a wealth of knowledge.

Hi

Thanks for the info, we are racing 1/10 scale on road, some of the drivers have a FW-05R of kyosho but with another engine a more powerful engine, my cars have a .16 vertex engine, I dont know what is the problem, my car runs very good against HPI or tamiya but against TC3 or Kyosho I cant do it those cars are very fast i think that they put a lot of money on those cars, so can I put the Nova 3.5 on road turbo engine on my Rapida PRO

Thanks

decomp Id look into an OS .18. and also possibly adjusting the gearing depending on if you want more top speed or more low end. A good tuned pipe will help as well.

Since there is now a Himoto forum, there is no need to continue this thread.
