I recently purchased a Heli JR PCM 10SXII here on RCU for a great price. Today I finally changed out the Eflite receiver with my mini PCM Rx and programmed my Tx. What a difference, you would be surprised how much better the pro flew. After trimming, the dang thing can actually hover for 4 - 8 seconds with my fingers off the sticks. Also the exponential greatly helps as the Pro is now no where as touchy as it was with the stock radio. Now all I need is a heading hold gyro, I was thinking about the Futaba 401. What is everyones thoughts on which is the best gyro for the money.

401 is the best for the money, but much of that precision, speed, and adjustability is intended for digital servo type tails. much of what you pay for in a 401 is wasted when using it with a tail motor.

if all you need is hh and you plan on keeping your cp with its hh later on, i'd consider the eflight g90. it has dual mode remote gain, which is nice to have with a programmable tx, and it's lighter than a 401.

you might consider saving money by buying a 401/servo combo now if you plan on stripping the gyro off to use in a trex or similar later on. however, that would be a shame since the cp (especially with hh) is a nice heli to test new moves on before you attempt it with a more expensive bird.

I recently started to fly cp pro, my first heli found the transmiter that came with the cp pro way to sensative with no programable expo, I replced reciver cristal so i could use my futaba 9c,programed -50expo aile elev rudd flys worse than before crahed hard had some of the setup off and did not have any revo mix programed. I have flown rc planes for 7 years 3d for last 3,have flown helis on aerofly professional deluxe flight sim for over a year and can fly the sim fine even 3d heli moves, I have been told the sim dont simulate turbulance when hovering extremely low to ground. Geting frustrated with helis after two weeks

I'd save the 401 for a T-Rex.

I went with a Align RCE-500x on my CP Pro (very similar to the G90)

Andy,

Check out the "Share 9C settings" on this forum. Use them and the bird flys great.

As Heli Harry said, go with a micro gyro like the Align RCE, G90, and I use the EF Micro Heading Lock Gyro. GY401 is over kill without the digital servo. It will be more frustrating to configure.
