Hi Forum,

Since my break function is not working, and there is no way i can program my Lansu ESC, can anyone suggest me a good ESC for my truck, it has a Leopard LBH3660 Brushless Motor.

TIA!

just wondering, do u have breaks in reverse? its very possible its setup backwards. It should have something?

This is the motor right? here

But if u are after a very reliable ESC with all the setting u should need

I would be looking at the Ezrun 60a here

Im positive the 35a version will be fine but for the extra $8 its worth getting the 60a version and it peaks to 380a

Hi,
Thanks for the reply!

Yes you are right about the break part, actually the Controller that i have has three Throttle positions, 1) Accelerate 2) Neutral 3) Reverse. The break function is suppose to work when we  move from accelerate to Reverse directly withouht going to neutral, which will actually activate Reverse not break and that is not good for the gears.

It looks the same motor only mine has a purplish body i am not sure if its a different model, as per HBX manual and specs i am suppose to have a 2600KV motor but the Leopard specs says its 3600KV... i am not sure who is right?

The ESC i have is Lansu 90A!

Below is the link to the user Manual of my Truck, it explains the Reverse/Break functions on Page-5 clearly:

WOW! They set yours up way better than mine. It has a tube chassis, and the motor is in the rear in front of the left rear wheel. Also, the receiver and esc are one unit. And the gear style is completely different. Wish I had yours.

yep im even more positive that its been set up wrong.

Let me guess, when u are going flat out forward and hit the brakes(push the trigger fully forward) it goes into reverse?

And most importantly........... please check this
when u are going flatout in reverse, and pull the trigger to go forward it applys the brakes?

that brake function is the same as everything out there. nothing fancy

Hi,

Actually its not that, when i hit breaks (full forward) the car doesnt stop immediately it rather stays in neutral,  but i figured that out yesterday, it was related to EPA settings, i had to set Reverse EPA to MAX to make breaks work, now when going reverse i want to stop i am not sure what to do? the car immediately goes to forward if i pull the throttle hence killing the gears, i need to see if thats normal or there should be breaks also while in reverse?

TIA
~Mani

Hi,

Yea thanks, but keeping the EPA to MAX is not a good idea, the car is crazily fast, it will rip of the parts very soon, the motor is very responsive!

TIA

hummm, dont think I would consider it fast, trust me ive owned one... buggy version, and even fitted the ESC/motor to a rustler... not fast on todays standards.

my tip dont play with the EPA, learn throttle controll... playing with the EPA causes problems like u have found. Some ESC would require recalibrating if u were to do that... no kidding

Hi,

Thanks for the TIP!

By fast i mean the parts dont seem to go along with the motor, they dont look as sturdy, might not be able to take the full power so they might wear off quicker, like one of the tyre just ripped of, i have to glue it back again etc!

TIA

Hello Forum,

I have a small concern regarding my HBX Massive Pro, the turning radius to Left is a bit less than the right, the wheels dont turn much to the left side as compared to the right side, is there a way i can increase the turning radius to left side? My truck has this servo

TIA

~Mani

I dont think the stock controller does left and right endpoints?

it might be possible that the centre point is out of whack,

what i reccomend,

adjust the trim knob on the controller to the middle. insuring the servo is centered
double check that the servo horn is level
then adjust the rod from the servo horn to the swing arms so the swing arms are dead straight.
then adjust the turnbuckles for toe so both sides are even to what ever toe setting u use
then re check steering opperation

forgot to mention check the front camber because it effects bumpsteer and toe, if thats out, adjust it first

HI

thanks for the detailed explanation, as usual . I followed the steps and managed to tune it via the EPA, yes the controller has EPA for steering left and right.

One more thing about lipos is it ok to use the wall socket adapter to charge it, I got one along my lipo it's a 5000mah 25c pack? I was reading and found that there are specialised chargers for lipo, can you shed some light this too?

TIA
~Mani

Not to sure about what wall charger u have.
But u do need a speical charger for lipos.
If u were to use a nimh charger, it will overcharge and catch fire... Cool party trick lol
And another thing to know is u can't let the battery get to flat, u run the risk of damaging the cells if they get below 3v per cell under load.

Take a look at the AC6 or the AC680 by thunder they both inexpensive and easy to operate. I have the thunder AC6 for about 3 years and it hasn't let me down. You can find them at hobbypartz.
