I have Lowered it a bit since then KrAyZ
Dont want the diff cups to wear out too quickly as Synchronized77 said..

I am really impressed with the Bonzers Offroad Capability, Sure it hasn't got the speed of an E-max but It can go places an E-maxx or E-Savage cant lol..

I am hoping the Carbon fibre Damper plate will stop my shock mounts from snapping off!

The V3 Shocks are 75mm.. They are taller then the 70mm shocks that come with V2..
By installing these Shocks on a V2, you raise the Ride height to as far as they can go without popping dogbones..

as for the Shocks settings, They are a Medium Setup which is a tad hard for what I would like.. but they do absorb the Landings from jumps very well..

Best place to find V3 Shocks is E-bay... 75mm Oil filled shocks is all you really need.. 70mm's would still fit but won't give you the height you need...

With a V2.. 80mm Shocks are too big... 65mm - 75mm is all I would do..

hows i got me a set of the ALLOY HEX ADAPTOR SET, ALLOY F KNUCKLE TL1021 & ALLOY C-HUB TL1020 with ball bearings, but ive noticed thay are a bit dodgy. First of all im lucky i had some tamyia MB1 screws, but when i fitted them it had execcive Vertical slop. So to correct this i had to fit 5x5mm DAI thin shims to each screw thats a total of 20 shims!!!! red arrows point to location. also i needed to get some 3x10mm cup screws for the steering arms pluss some flange ball connectors (i cheated for these ball connectors & used the bottom ball ends of some old shocks) oh also had to get a 3mm allen key for the steering screws & a 1.5mm allen key for the hex adaptors.

still waiting on my cv dogbones & lower arms

oh yeah nearly for got i dident like the look of the MB1 screws & i needed some spare's so ive ordered some upgrade ones Tamiya DF-02 Aluminum King Pins Blue tam 53787

Looks pretty cool but I have never broken one so I see no need in replacing one with alloy lol...

Alloy weights a little heavier then the plastic ones ???

Can you tell me what the lettering is on your Tyres as mine doesn't have that ??

The lettering is HIABOXING, they must be original stock tires.

hows ive done some extensive testing on dirt, grass concreate & wet concreat & came to a conculesion, DONT LOCK THE REAR DIFF, it causes excessive understeer, mainly due to locking the rear diff & a combo of high torque from thes cars, stock springs, lack of sway bars & a all A/T tyres

Yes phmaximus it does cause a Loss of Steering but it does improve the climbing ability...
You wouldn't want to lock the diff if you were not going to turn your Bonzer into a serious offroader..

Locking the Diff on a Bonzer that is going to be used for Speed rather then pure offroading would result in the Bonzer wanting to go straight in a corner..
When climbing up Sand dunes and rocky surfaces, a locked rear diff is a blessing..

The way the Bonzer's 4x4 system works is that the power is sent through the path of least resistance.. So on road all 4 get the same power as they all have equal traction but as soon as you go to ascend up a sand hill, one tyre is going to start to slip.. and thats it... you don't get anywhere as all the power is then sent to that wheel as it has the least resistance.. Locking the rear diff makes sure that Both wheels get the same amount of power regardless of resistance..

So, When you are cornering, the diff allows the Wheels to spin at independant RPM as you can imagine that the inside wheel has less distance to travel then the outside wheel so by locking the diff you remove the diffs ability to allow the wheels to rotate independantly..

So whilst locking the diff improves the Bonzers offroad ability it decreases its handling performance..

ive mainly replaced the hubs with alloy to reduce lateral movement, bilateral movement & allow me to shim excess clearences.
i think we all have a good idear on how a diff works, im a ex ford mechanic & diffs come naterally, u are wrong. this is a 4x4 wheel drive system that uses only 2 diffs, not 3, there fore the path of least restance is divides but 2 wheels not 1, ie the minmin amout of wheels that can slip is 2.the main reason i lock the rear diff was for climbing but i soon realised that the bonzer is not a good climber compared to other 4x4's after all its not purpes built & essensionaly is a touring car with big wheels

also locking the diff caused it to strip 2 axels & causes excessive wear on dogbones, diff, wheel studs etc etc

im new to the whole rc world and i know very little about motor setups. I always hear certain motors a 12 turn motors or 21 turn motors etc etc, but i was wondering if the turns depend on the motor or just the pinion? can somebody esplain ?

Hi KrAyZ and welcome to the Bonzer thread. The easiest way to explain is, basically the lower the turn the faster the motor spins, the higher the turn the slower it spins. So 12 turn would be for on road racing and 50 turn for off road rock crawling. Volts, Amps, wire gauge, length of armature, efficiency and lots of other things come into play but that is the basics.
