Please tell me your not running lipo on the stock ESC....

This is a Bad mistake made by noobs who wanna shove more power into their Bonzers...

The Stock ESC has no lipo cut off and will cause BIG problems for those who are using Lipo Batts..

The Stock ESC is only Nicd and NIMH safe.. not lipo...

Hi double00, it sounds like your motor is cogging, you will have to lower your gearing. You will also need to check the connections on your lipos/nimh/deans plugs and clean your deans plugs pins, that could be causing your connection break readings, push your deans plugs on the end of your batteries into your charger lead a few times and testing by trying to charge. Make sure your charger is set to the proper battery type.

im running the 19 teeth pinion, you cant go lower on the bonzer can you?, or can you get a lower gearset?, i know aviv123 runs his bonzer on a mm4600 (same as mine) and his apears fine, maybe its the plugs, all my connectors are deans, motor to esc are stock mamba max. another thought, maybe my bonzer is running the tuned gear set as i bought the complete chassis of ebay with gears in already. Its was set up as a buggy though, 100mm rear springs, 70mm front. i might pull it apart and check it out, here is aviv123's video of his http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9utrq6OIFEs
his looks like it handles it well, mine on 3s lipo my guess is about 90km down the street, i thought it was going to be fast but i was not prepared for this, its only the takeoff which sux!

HI double00, open up your pinion gear inspection hole on the right hand side and look inside, if you see black gears then they are speed tuned. Quite often buggies had speed tuned gears installed so that it was easier to find and run high torque motors. A stock buggy normally has about a 20,000 motor a car about 28,000 and the Bonzer about 14,500 to 15,000, a stock Tamiya/Mabuchi is about 15,000.

nope, white gears, must be connections, i have read that the mamba max esc to motor plugs (a certain set) had contact issues, maybe i just direct solder the motor wires to esc wire (cut plugs off). not happy about the b5 charger though, i saw insane power for about 20 minutes, just a glimpse!

I charged 1 lipo once and the other twice then i got the error connection break, tried wiggling connections etc, its like the balance input plug is gone, contacted them and waiting for reply!!!, may opt for something slightly different but like you said you could buy something and never have a problem, or have constant problems!, the seems like a constant!

.......the plot thickens, i have a 12v fan for my mamba max, i plugged it onto my 7.2 nimh and it worked, then i plugged into either of my 2 lipos and nothing!!! so i turned the voltage cuttoff off on my mamba max( as i used both batteries till it cut off, it was set a 9v) just to test my batts, plugged it and turned my mamba max on, all i got was a quick flash, its like the lipos are completly flat????, i have no idea what is going on as the cut-off was set, could my lipos be dead after 1 run, is this why my charger saysconnection break, does not seem to make sense! I balance charged them both at 2200 in the b5, maybe the charger is ok?? help!!!

Careful.... My Magna used to rip 16 Second Quarters.. and was more reliable then my Families Falcon or Commodore and handled better then a Camry...

(Before I lowered it)

Sold it to buy a Suzuki Vitara.. I craved the need to go 4x4ing

The B5 is not a bad Charger. It Does Nicd and Nimh just fine... I am suspecting your Lipo's are at fault more then the charger..

Take your Lipo's to Your LHS and have them test them for you..
Also try charging a Nicd or Nimh, if the unit shows a Fault then the charger is indeed faulty...

Hi Guys,

I have an old style bonzer so esc and reciever are one unit, I want to fit a tamiya dirt tuned motor but not sure if esc will handle it. As I dont wanna fit new esc and reciever and buy new transmitter I will only buy dirt tuned motor if the esc I currently have is adequate. Would appreciate any help/ advice.
