OK...they have a noise... Is anyone familiar with Hpi's product support? If this noise becomes a problem, shouldnt it be covered as a manufacturing defect? What im askin is, do they back their products up?

if you can find the problem and tell them what it is, then yes, they will back their product and send you a new one. if you dont wanna take your truck apart, then im sure you can send them the whole truck, ive never tried that before though....

I pointed out to one of the Admins that the action pictures were not working. I'm guessing the article was pulled to fix that problem. It should be restored soon.

Ah, i see. You might wanna have em fix the GT10 review as well then. Many of the pics are not working. The pics of the dis-assembly, and chassis pics, etc. They dont work. Seems all the action pics i tested work though. And the desktop wallpaper is sick! I cant wait to see the E-savage desktop. Great work on the reviews man.

one other quick question. I think the stock springs are kinda soft. So i went to my Lhs and got the purple ones (its all they had), which seem to stiff. Can mix the springs. like have the purple ones in front, and red in the rear on each mount?

Thnks in advanced!

P.s. Tried resetting the gear mesh, and still have that clicking sound. any other advice

You should be able to use any spring combination you want Ominous. If you want the mediums though, they are the blue springs.
Assuming this uses the same spring as a savage.

...nice thread Misbehavin'...Nice review too...

...Unfortunatley this thread seems to full of people asking the same questions over and over again and not really getting answers...the E-maxx vs. E-Savage debate i think will go down in history as one of those impossible to win battles; like shaft vs. belt

...There IS a site devoted to the E-Savage but I am not allowed to mention it due to RCU rules...But as an avid E-Savage owner I am mighty pleased to finally see that the world has woken up to what the truck is and what it CAN be...Its just a shame that it has taken so long for HPI to get their act together

*right-click the picture and save it for your wallpaper

...Ominous the red stockers ARE kinda squishy...On the E-Savage forum 8 blue is quite a popular choice but of course you CAN mix them...Many of us have experiemnted with green and still found them too soft...Some users have gone to black / purple and mixed with the red so that is another option...I personally use 8 blue with Bad Horsie boots...

Anyway the only thing I didnt like was the knuckles were weak - how are these holding up and my buddy tells me they are since updated - can anyone vouch for that?

...Correct...The knuckles have been updated and are MUCH beefier than what they have been using up till now...I am still on Gen. 1 versions but as they break i will replace them with new Gen. 2 ones for sure...IMO its not REALLY a part i would want in alloy as the stresses will just move elsewhere but the new design means that a rod-end will pop off before a knuckle arm breaks...HPI did their homework on that one...

That's because there is no real answer to that age old debate! I'm not sure if shaft vs. belt describes it well enough! I am very surprised that it took this long before HPI had an electric Savage though. Even if you consider the E-Zilla, there were still way behind the curve.

It also great to see someone else who understands that aluminum is better when used sparingly in most situations!

I will be opening up my E-Savage on Christmas Eve. What are some steps or precautions I should take prior to the first run (besides boiling the hubs..etc <- don't think I'm going to do this anyway)?

Misbehavin - The article has an error in it that I noticed a few days ago but forgot to put up a post about it. Down 3/4 of the way where the video is it says "See the Lightning GT10 in action!". The video towards the top of the page is labeled correctly.

Good catch! I used the lower half of the Lightning GT10 article as a template because it used my current layout for the action pics and wallpaper. I must have overlooked changing that. I'll get it switched.
