Hey Mike,

How far are you from Toledo? I'm gonna try hard to get there this year for the Weak Signals show in April. The auction is one of my favorite entertainments - ever. Maybe some of us could get together. Yes, I know its not a hotbed of 1/2A enthusiasts but for me its like model airplane Las Vegas. Whaddya say?

ProBroJoe -> RE: Postal Plane Project (1/3/2008 10:08 PM)

We have a winner - the next person on the list, with a bit of shuffling, is going to be chevy43!

Looks like I'll have to say my good-byes and get her in the mail... [:(]

(Remember folks, it's not too late to sign up to be part of this worldwide event!)

NorfolkSouthern -> RE: Postal Plane Project (1/3/2008 11:13 PM)

Me and Chevy43 will be trading places. Him, Skaliwag, and RocketRob will be flying it together and posting some photos, which should give this thread a nice boost. Meanwhile, I'll be taking Chevy's spot in the list so I'll have the chance to spend a more pleasant weekend with Grace this upcomming Spring.

Gee, I hope nobody ever takes this out of context. Read the above slowly and think "sicko."

Oh alright sometimes when I miss my nap, my dirty-old-man alter ego (Raoul) slips in for a minute or two.

SGC -> RE: Postal Plane Project (1/4/2008 1:11 AM)

Raymond,
Yu dreaming !!!!!!!
" pleasant weekend with Grace " are just a fond memory for guys like us
Stewart

ProBroJoe -> RE: Postal Plane Project (1/4/2008 1:30 AM)

Stewart, I don't see you in line to have your way with Grace - what's up with that? I think I speak for everyone here when I say we need to rouse up some interest down under! (Peter, Ron C., David O., where are you?) [;)]

-Joe

Raymond LeFlyr -> RE: Postal Plane Project (1/4/2008 3:31 AM)

Speak for yourself Stewart.

And PBJoe's right. But if Grace makes it to Oz, will she have to fly inverted? Is that what's keeping them away?

vicman -> RE: Postal Plane Project (1/4/2008 1:06 PM)

I thought they flew a counter clockwise pattern.

Hey Vic you ever get to Minneapolis? I've been flying out on the ice but it's so lonely[&o].
Draws a lot of spectators but no pilots. They must be all inside cutting balsa....

Oh and if anyone wants to look at the roster it's here...

http://www.crowriverrc.com/My_Homepage_Files/Page5.html

All right! I made the list!

I wasn't sure if anyone noticed my post or not.

Hopefully I'm far enough down the list that it'll be warmer than the -5ºF it was here last week.

dieFluggeister -> RE: Postal Plane Project (1/10/2008 7:53 PM)

Hey Chevy43, what's the score man? Is it flying time this weekend?

RocketRob -> RE: Postal Plane Project (1/16/2008 10:14 PM)

Chevy told me she arrived last night.
He sounds quite impressed. We are trying to put saturday together...........

dieFluggeister -> RE: Postal Plane Project (1/28/2008 7:06 PM)

So what's the update Chevy? We are anxious to hear!

jcervantes11 -> RE: Postal Plane Project (1/31/2008 9:30 AM)

was that a TD o49??

jcervantes11 -> RE: Postal Plane Project (1/31/2008 9:33 AM)

are you actually building these for customer? Because I want one :) and willing to pay atleast for the airframe.

Yea, but it was just posed for the picture while I was trouble shooting the other engine.

Maybe you could talk someone into building one for you, but plans for Grace are available on dieFluggeister's website: http://www.crowriverrc.com/ - it wouldn't take a whole lotta work to put one together...

Sooooooo what's up gang? This thread's been awful quiet lately...

jcervantes11 -> RE: Postal Plane Project (1/31/2008 8:06 PM)

well i can print out the plan but i have no printer and i probably need a good size printer. Kinkos w/e it is probably would do it but what size? Would they able to print
out? I wouldn't mind having someone to print it out and i'll send in w/e they spend for their time and wood. Would be nice. Would anybody do that? It's hard trusting
though but hope something can work out. Nice planes guys, love how it fly with a sure start 049 lol.

dieFluggeister -> RE: Postal Plane Project (2/1/2008 2:33 AM)

The plan is on tiled sheets of 8.5 x 11" that you tape together. Not the best method, but most folks have a standard printer.

I do have the full sized plan for anyone who wants it and has a large plotter/printer. I have not priced it out at Kinkos but I have been told it is very expensive to have it printed there.

If you have any experience in building planes at all you will have no problem with Grace.

ptulmer -> RE: Postal Plane Project (2/1/2008 3:15 AM)

I've got a wide format printer. It's five bucks a sheet plus shipping. (folded is cheap and rolled is another five spot) Don't know how dF feels about me making money off his drawing, though. (actually it's not "making money" when the printer hasn't paid for itself yet. At least that's what my wife keeps saying.)

dieFluggeister -> RE: Postal Plane Project (2/1/2008 8:33 PM)

Pffffft. Could be my plan, could be the next guy's. Its all good. I don't think any of us here are in it for the money!

redbird340 -> RE: Postal Plane Project (2/2/2008 2:20 AM)

Did Chevy crash the plane?

ProBroJoe -> RE: Postal Plane Project (2/2/2008 2:48 AM)

Yea... what's up guys? [8|]

chevy43 -> RE: Postal Plane Project (2/2/2008 2:54 AM)

OK here is the update. It has rained the last 3 weekends in a row... Tomorow it is suposed to rain to but maybe not till later in the day. Rocket rob, Misfitsailor, and Skaliwag are all suposed to come over and fly tomorow morning. I figure since we are getting at least 4 people from the forum in one trip that it might be ok that I have it a little more time... I sure hope the rain holds off till tomorw afternoon.......

Treven.

SGC -> RE: Postal Plane Project (2/2/2008 3:00 AM)

chevy43,
its a bummer when Mother Nature and Murphy get together hey:)

chevy43 -> RE: Postal Plane Project (2/2/2008 8:44 AM)

This is kind of funny. Tonight while trying to get the plane ready I was scrambling around trying to solder up a battery pack. I got one all soldered up and on the charger. I then got the reciever ready and when I pulled out the foam I realized that there already was a battery pack in the plane! Serves me right for not reading this thread more carefuly. Actually I think I did read it but I forgot...

This is a really well built and well thought out little plane. I really like how the tail comes apart and goes together. I look forward to flying it in the morning!

Treven

vicman -> RE: Postal Plane Project (2/3/2008 2:54 AM)

Did you read the part about keeping the throws as called out? More is not better.[;)]
