I am up for my turn with her. I will be leaving for training in July so after that I am going to have to drop off the list. Honestly I would keep Grace for probably no more than a week, two max then send her on the way.

What a cool idea! I'd love to join the bandwagon, I assume new entrants will have to wait for the next "tour"?

Where is GRACE
I have not even wanted a chance at her but some one has dropped the BALL, This was started to be a great new adventure for Modeling and look what some one has decided to do. If she is any shape to be sent on or you just don't have the Gutt's to send her. Let me know and I will get her back on the trail.

Whoa, that seems a bit harsh. Flybug received Grace a little over a month ago and he said it was raining. Maybe he hasn't had a chance to fly her yet. I'm sure he'll get his flight in and pass her on to the next person on the list. On a project this ambitious there's bound to be a few hiccups and slowdowns.

It would just take a minute to post what is going on. If you done your job like this you would not be working very long. The man that started this has the right to know where Grace is and how she is doing no matter what the weather. Sorry ! Just my thoughts on the subject. There are a lot of people that would like to fly Grace and pass her on.

(Oh )It is not my plane why worry about it

I kind of agree. Having played a role in the conception of Grace I'm a bit disappointed at how she seems to have made the rounds. For an example look at the way the wings accross america project has circulated and it was started long after Grace.

Even though I've already had my turn, I too am disappointed to see the project sort of fizzle out. What will it take to re-energize this and motivate people? Holding onto GRACE for 4-8 (or more) weeks doesn't do a whole lot for the momentum we had going...

I fired off a heated response, then deleted it. Flybug is the guy who had it last? He seems like a stand up guy from posts in the past.

CP, I agree... and I thought there was hope that things would get back on track. I know people have lives, jobs, and other commitments, but they shouldn't take on another responsibility if they can't follow through in a timely manner. Seems to be a lot of excuses, but little actual progress.

If you look on page 23 of this thread Flybug said he received it from sdg666.

All I'm saying is give the guy a chance to explain what's going on. He did ask where to send it next; has anyone sent him an address?

Seems I'm very much in the minority on this one, so I'll just shut up and let you all tear him a new one.

I've just received her and it has been raining here cats and dogs, but once I'm done I will definately get her to whomever wants to be a part of this.

Why not PM him and ask what's up? He last logged on on July 9. So, maybe they have had rain in MD of Biblical proportions. It started with cats and dogs (see above) and it may be raining hippos and elephants by now. Guys, give him a break; have you ever tried to load an ark after the rain has started? Seriously, look at the weather data for MD. I think he could have flown it by now.

I wasn't going to mention the fact that the weather here has been nice for several weeks... Yea, we had an unusually wet Spring this year, but we've actually started to swing towards the other side of the weather spectrum.

Guys, long ago as Bipe mentioned I requested a PM with a mailing address and up to today not one of you steamers have sent me anything, perhaps I may just send it to the rightfull owner who has not log in for a while now, and maybe you can just post and/or PM him for it. Yes perhaps on my way to the funeral of my wife I could have posted a note or so stating the delay, or maybe while shipping off my nephew to the front lines in the middle east. Yes ProBroJoe, we've had a change in the weather but for a 1/2A we've had more wind than I can handle at least at my airfield.
The plane is in one piece, I replaced the fuel tank and had plans to set the piston. If I do not get a PM with an address I will send her back to her maker on Monday. I really don't need all this rant at this point of my life; I am getting enough trown at me already as it is.
I apologize for the hold up, but since you ask now you know why.
Thank you.

Flybug,

You have my sincerest condolences. When it comes to the loss of a loved one, nothing else matters. Concentrate on yourself right now, that's what's most important.

Flybug,
I am very sorry for your loss. I am sure everyone here undstands now the reason for the delay is shipping Grace out.

As for me it looks like Grace will not make it here to me any time soon. I am withdrawing my name form the list for now as I will be leaving for Officer school in a couple weeks. I will check in from time to time so you may see me lurking here. I hope we can get her back up and running again so she can continue her journey!!!

flybug,

I very sorry to hear about the loss of your wife. You have my condolences and prayers.

Having had the pleasure to fly Grace, my vote is you hang on to her as long as necessary until you get a chance to fly her.

The slowdown with Grace is just as much my fault as anyone else's. The project seems to take a direct and active manager in order to keep things running at a more rapid pace. I had hopes of it being a little more self-sustaining but that is all part of the experiment I guess. I truly believe that each and every one who has participated has done so with earnest intentions and with the spirit of RC brotherhood. Thanks to everyone! In the grand scheme though, family trumps hobby, and thats the way it should be.

In the next couple days I will try and get a handle on the schedule, and flybug, why don't you give me a short PM and let me know where things are at. We'll get it rollin'!

Flybug, so sorry for your loss....Its hard to believe this plane has gone through 2 years..and still going...Mike, all projects tend to fizzle at times...maybe sometime we can get it back here to a reedie race with the Carolina Crew...I'd build one myself, but have too many half built planes as it is....and I owe it to the crew to get us together again....I've only flown once this year myself,,but Bsarge and I are planning to get together soon to fly....Rog

Thank you all folks for your kind words; there is a lot going on right now it is why I am not on as often, although my computer has been on. I am waiting for instructions from dieFluggeister at the moment.
Good flying.
