I will second this hahahahhahhaha...I signed the plane , but not the box...Schu, if you can recognize my chicken scratch and make out Roger W. Bond sharpie in an NC under it for me....Rog

Raymond LeFlyr -> RE: Postal Plane Project (11/14/2007 3:30 PM)

Dale,

Good on ya ole bloke for the rebuild leg pull. Haaaw. I'd send an extra plug myself but it got stuck when I tried to blow it out my trumpet. I don't remember signing the box. I thought we signed the wing at Rog's. I could be wrong because I sign my name so many times - autograph seekers - its hard to remember what I write on (except for those young ladies who insist . . . well, this is a family forum.

dieFluggeister -> RE: Postal Plane Project (11/14/2007 3:37 PM)

I'm guessing even a permanent marker is dissolved by fuel. Box signing would last, or if you wanna put a small decal on the plane somewhere that would be cool too.

Lomcevak Duck -> RE: Postal Plane Project (11/14/2007 3:42 PM)

Yea, when I saw it the stuff on the wing was begining to fade, so I signed the wing and the box, and added a small decal to the inside of the box.

Schu -> RE: Postal Plane Project (11/14/2007 7:26 PM)

No- all the names are still on the wing and box - I was just careful when I cleaned the wing not to clear the page.
Rog - I will put the " NC " under the name for you - no problem
Dale

ptulmer -> RE: Postal Plane Project (11/14/2007 9:01 PM)

If you use just a paper towel damp with warm water to clean the wing, the sig's will last longer. One good swipe with a degreaser will "clear the page" as Schu put it.

Alright, website is back up. Plans and duty roster can be found here.

vicman -> RE: Postal Plane Project (11/15/2007 3:17 AM)

Shouldn't you have the picture of the actual traveling plane on the site?[;)]

Not trying to pick... the site is working fine now.[sm=thumbs_up.gif]

ProBroJoe -> RE: Postal Plane Project (11/15/2007 5:34 PM)

BTW, congrats Schu, your flight marked the one year anniversary of GRACE's conception! (Plus or minus a day.)

vicman -> RE: Postal Plane Project (11/15/2007 7:54 PM)

Thanks PBJ for reminding me how long it took me to cover her.[8|]

Schu -> RE: Postal Plane Project (11/15/2007 10:36 PM)

Thanks ProBro - the plane should be coming to you soon - it will be on it's way to the next flyer on the list in the morning.
Dale

shotgun06 -> RE: Postal Plane Project (11/23/2007 9:49 PM)

If Grace travels through Canada, I would sure like to have her here in Portage la Prairie ( Manitoba ). We have a rc club here and we fly on a field that is used during the day for full size military helicopter training and at the end of the day and during weekends it's available to rc models.

dieFluggeister -> RE: Postal Plane Project (11/24/2007 10:02 PM)

Here's her travels so far...

Got ya on the roster Shotgun06!

BMatthews -> RE: Postal Plane Project (11/25/2007 6:22 PM)

Hey is it to late to get in on the flying of the plane andsigning it?If not send her my way,thanks and God bless you all.Billy

layback2 -> RE: Postal Plane Project (11/26/2007 2:30 PM)

Sign me up if its not to late South Oklahoma sounds like a cool project

dieFluggeister -> RE: Postal Plane Project (11/27/2007 1:27 AM)

Its never too late to sign up - Layback2 and Billym8228 I'll add you to the roster!

Bruce, to answer your question it looks like it will be on the west coast in May if eveyone takes two weeks to fly then ship. I'm hoping that it doesnt take that long but it is heading through the frozen north for the next couple stops so them boys are at the mercy of the weather.

When flyers get the heads-up that the plane will be coming to them next, they might want to get their camera ready, get a receiver set, and plan ahead for some time to fly. The pilot after you will probably appreciate any extra day you can save[:)]

vicman -> RE: Postal Plane Project (11/27/2007 2:08 AM)

Who has it now? I think it's very important to sound off when you get it.

Live Wire -> RE: Postal Plane Project (12/1/2007 4:48 PM)

Looks like this poor bird is history[8|]

Lomcevak Duck -> RE: Postal Plane Project (12/2/2007 1:32 AM)

?

eroc144 -> RE: Postal Plane Project (12/2/2007 4:10 AM)

Hey folks,

I've got it right now, and right on schedule! We've been fighting low temps and winds for the past 10 days, but I'll get it to the next person ASAP.

EG

layback2 -> RE: Postal Plane Project (12/3/2007 6:28 AM)

Weres the pictures of the planes from the folks who have had it so far would like to see her on her world tour thanks

Yuu -> RE: Postal Plane Project (12/3/2007 8:22 PM)

I'm not involved.... but I think the designer and builder should get a "look" at her after 100 flights... then continue, if you want to. "Opinions are like as. ..... etc. and they ALL STINK" ...For what it's worth...

dieFluggeister -> RE: Postal Plane Project (12/10/2007 1:58 AM)

Well Eroc144, how did the flying go this weekend? Better weather I hope?

eroc144 -> RE: Postal Plane Project (12/10/2007 2:28 PM)

Well folks, between snow, rain and wind this weekend, Ma Nature has again conspired to keep GRACE grounded in my neck of PA. I'm going to send her along in hopes that others have better luck, and perhaps she can come my way again on the back side of the tour.

Given that it's December and with many cold and windy months ahead, my suggestion is that we reroute GRACE to warmer climates until spring. This would mean redoing the duty roster, so Fluggie this is your call.

Let me know your thoughts, and where to send it next.

EG
