Yep 3 cid. (= 49 cc ). The Iron Bay ( Byron ) Corsairs call for a minimum 49cc for they're 25 lb + kits so that what I based my engine choice on.
Unitracs from the U.K. made my shaft extention , but I felt the diameter was a little small . The 300V has a large prop hub and the one I recieved looks like it was made for the 200V.

With all due politeness I am going to keep trying with the Brits making the Laser. From what i've seen, many are trying to extend the front of the engine. I'd like to get one complete as required from the factory; out of respect for what they are already doing. I hope i'm not stepping on RW's toes continuing this conversation here. I eagerly await his latest work (no pressure RW)!

..and Pappy thanks for the hint on unitracts, that may be a good option.

I think it is questionable form, but we need to drum up support for Richard's nice project! He has done a terrific job so far, and I think he may suffer from my (and others) perfection hang-up. Keep going RW! Feel the pressure..! Ha ha ha ha Boy, the amount of thinking versus gluing gets underestimated in a build!

Sorry all - I've been in the middle of moving and have not made any progress. Sorry for being a stranger. For some reason I have not received any notices that you have made posts here.

Note: Even though I started this thread I appreciate everyone that has provided input and asked/answered questions. There are many that keep their knowledge to themselves, for whatever reason, but I want this thread to be an open discussion. I will not and do not take offense to anyone posting here, so please do not think you will be considered a hijacker for adding what you feel is relevant. I for one appreciate you and have learned a lot from your unselfish contributions.

Keep 'em coming!

Hopefully I'll be able to resume working on the cockpit soon (I'm going through withdrawals!!!) and will post my progress.

Pappy, great idea using circuit board material for the flap ends, and as always you are awesome.

Riddle4U, thanks for your comments. I am like you - I am a perfectionist too, and I do not take your critiques or anyone's for that matter, as anything except constructive, so please keep it up.

FYI, I bought a seat belt and switches from a company in London England called State of Art Models. The items were 1/5 scale and I thought they would look ok in my 1/6 Corsair, but I was wrong. They are just a little too big.
This company has been a real pleasure to do business with and they even said I could return the items for a full refund. Jakub, who I have been dealing with, is also a member on several forums and may be here too. He even asked what products I would like to see in the future so I made a few suggestions. It looks like I will be doing business with them again, so check them out.

WoW those guy's in England make some beautiful stuff. Too bad It won't help us with our 1/6th scale project though.
I need to start looking for cockpit part's especially the proper labels and placards for the F4U-5N. I wonder if Buz Hampton could upsize his for me ....I need to check. Here's a pic of his work.
