Status: offline 		Here's the bling - just in time before I head away for 2 weeks. No more building unil after January 8th now. Hopefuly I will get in 2 or 3 hrs of sim time a day for the next 2 weeks.

Status: offline 		Looking good - decals always put the final touch on. The canopy worked out well too. The flame/maple leafs will be on the cowl.

Status: offline 		Thanks Al - I like it too. I can't wait to finsh the last few things. I am getting in lots of simulator time and knocking off some of the winter rust. I keep getting distracted and flying 3D which is not helping my roller training any... 5 hrs int he sim so far today and I bet 3 hrs was TR'ing and trying to learn rolling harriers LOL - NOT required for IMAC.

I have a caller, plane tickets booked, hotel booked, sponsorship for shipping crate and shipping to the Canadian nats in July. If I can make time and stay focused the Panzl should be flying in Intermediate there... if I slack off then Sportsman Either way I'll be there.

Hope you guys are enjoying/have enjoyed a good break.

Status: offline 		No action for a while I know. I was too cold here to paint. Wel today it is "wam enough" 0c. I am in the garage with a heat gun and paint is flying! The cowl should be done by tonight.

The Pilot also arrived and is FREAKING AWESOME. It's too big for the cockpit so unfortunately some trimming will be needed - but DAMN it looks nice.

I am determined to test fire the Panzl all finished up tomorrow.

Paul did an amazing job on the pilot. I had to cut him shorter and every cut hurt... but I had to bring it down 1/2" to fit. I have nicknamed him "little Al" in honor of the endless stream of questions Al answered for me.

The cowl got 6 coats of white (light coats 45 mins between each sitting over a heat vent.) Then 2 coats of clear. I did not do any sanding. I decided to lay this as a base - on the weekend once it has a chance to harden I will wet sand it to fix the seams and take off the orange peel. Then it will get some white airbrushed in the trouble areas I couldn't get with the spray can and a few more coats of clear. I don't expect perfection - I was not able to get the covering on the cowl perfect after all ... but it needs some more work. I also need to cut out some cooling vents in the bottom of the cowl.

Took some pics next tot he Cap I just finished rebuilding too. The Cap is a big 33%... the same length but much less "chunky" and less wingspan and wing area. The Panzl is LIGHTER as it sits. By quite a bit based on just picking them up. It's gonna fly so nice - I can't wait!

Hey, more good news.

I weighed the airplane today... Yea baby, it's 26 lbs even. And thats with the big fat 5" wheels... so -8 oz for the Kavan's and +4 oz for the fancy CF wheel pants and I am at 25lbs 12oz!!!! Holy cow - this think is gonna be an AWESOME HOT ROD FROM HELL at that weight. 2.5lbs lighter than my Cap with 4.5" more wing.... WOW.

I am a happy camper.

Status: offline 		Well - the icy grip of winter has a firm grip on my psyche but I can't let that stop me. I was/am desperate to see what the Panzl will look like in the air. Since I am flying far more than I care to admit in Aerofly Pro Deluxe practicing for IMAC this season... I made a 40% Extra 330S in my scheme Looks nice to me! Maybe JeeUm will use my scheme on his new 330S ... somehow I think not! I will do a bit more editing on the plane to add the graphics too. The red on the wing tips works in the sim - so hopefully also in real life.

Here is the 07 Sportsman sequence in my "PANZL" scheme. Give me a break on the flying, please.
I see 12 points of deductions... I've only been flying 18 months now... so cut me some slack. I fly better in real life (honest - I find orientation/tracking in the sim a b*tch.)

Best bet is to download it rather than try and stream it.

It just dumpped snow here last night... again. I'm running out of room to shovel it. With all my building and pre season work done just think how much practice I'll get before spring! (trying to stay positive)
