Looks great Jaav - can't wait to see it in action.

Unless the weather is really foul in the morning I'm going to send up the twin bipe. I'll try to keep it in the air but I'm expecting a (hopefully good) entry in the crash vid section.

FLIGHT REPORT:

We got out early this morning to take advantage of the still conditions, the carrier filled to the brim with eight birds.

After a few warmup flights - me on the BYOB (lovin' it more and more) and son on his souped-up Island Hopper we taxied out the TwinBipe MkII. A quick pre-flight check and I opened up the thottle.

Take off was same as last attempt but this time no problem with the first bank. IT FLIES Was having fun with some simple go arounds for the camera when one of the motors fried - nice smoke shot on the vid. I managed to get it down without any further damage. I really wasn't expecting it to be a keeper but there you go. I guess I'll have to get a couple of 2200 inrunners for it.

Then on to some warbird action, the catastrophic results of which ought to earn me dunce of the year award.

jewy....Niiiccceee.[>:]

reminds me of when my twin boom smoked a motor....except it didnt land...

Love the landing...prob could walk away from it..

The flying to day was gusty 15 kts..
decided not to fly the Tornado, the son destroyed the SPA3D, pulled out too late behind the mangroves the plane rose up from the ground, thought he pulled another fluke (all ready done one on the same flight) except the was no engine, tank, sevo ect. done a lot of crashes that girl..Will come back with a new wing and nose..

My only flight was the thrasher, quite a long one as most of the time 1/2 throtle...

Hey rowdy, You do realise that the rules clearly stipulate that " in order to accrue points, a pilot must collide with children).

I done the movember thing..made it in to the handle bars like Chopper Reid, much to the missus disgust..Went to a dress up 40th last night and shaved the side bars off and to realy piss her off I now have "hitler" style mo...

Godd flights the Rowdy...With the cam, Put some thick tape over the mic and around the seam to try and stop some of the mic wind noise...

Jewy. just landed new motors for the Corsair 1000kv that will swing a 10x6 3 blade its the smae set up that HK use in their Corsair..
might strap them to the twin EF and see how she goes ...Might just tear the wing apart..

RGH hows the flying going???
Unfortunately I work weekends and this W\E had the added complication of two of our kids having birthdays, so no flights.
I've got some goodies arriving this week (BL, ESC, servo's, fuse, wings etc...) so I hope to get to building a version of my EF MkII soon!
I've also got my MIL arriving from the US in a couple of weeks and there's plenty to do to make the place a bit more presentable.
Once she's here I'll have plenty of motivation to go out flying tho - there's cunning in my madness! ;-)

That's hilarious! Mine is also here for 8 weeks - scary coincidence - you have my sincere commiserations!!
Oh well, it's a fantastic excuse for me to take up RC once more
I've managed spread my purchases across a few different cards to muddy the funding trial a little, but given the urgent need for me to find an 'outside' interest, I reckon I've still got some credit to draw on! ;-)
Pity is my FIL (who's remarried and lives on the other side of the US from the MIL) flies sailplanes most weekends and has been into RC since the days of valve radio's - really interesting guy, but he rarely travels out to Oz. It's a cruel twist really...

PZ - fantastic plane IMO. The son's Freewing Hellcat from Hobby King was unfortunately also wrecked in the same 'incident'.

I can only vouch for the Hellcat which is pretty good foamie for the price but some of the quality is what you pay for - e.g. the battery and prop were useless and the foam needed some trimming to make the parts fit together. After reading a lot of reviews there it looks like they have some pretty good stuff and also some crap. I suppose I put some faith in the review system and only get the stuff that has 5 stars. The P51 looks good.

The crashes? Well I was flying the F4U nice'n'easy and the son was flying the Hellcat. Everything was great until the Hellcat starts running low in juice. I'm explaining to him how to approach the landing - sort of following him in then he says he's got no control and the bird is coming in towards us and other people setting up. I tell him to veer it away from the people but its obviously dead stick and it just flies straight into the dirt and breaks up about twenty meters away. I'm just relieved it crashed 'safely' and wondering what the hell happened. Then I hear a thud and the corsair smashes into the ground near the Hellcat. What the hell was that I wonder before it hits home. In the heat of the moment I actually forgot I was flying the bloody thing. Surely the dumbest moment in RC flying ever.

Turns out the battery fell out of the hellcat. That's one of the flaws - theres a plastic hatch on the belly to hold the battery held with flimsy clips. I could have beefed that up so I'll take the blame for that one too.

After assessing the damage I think I'll have a crack at repairs.

Don`t stress Jewy i've done the same thing.
I had streamers on my flying disk and my bro was chaing with ef bipe. he got tangled up and came in kinda knife edge. I had beanie cam on was really exited about getting the footage, so much so that whilst filming him that the disk hit the ground before i remembered i was flying. It was worth it given no one got hurt
